Posts: 10 Thanks: 1 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Strut Mount ‘Morning, Luvin our time here in France with the Barchetta. The drive from the U.K. was trouble free and top down all the way! We are at last reaching the end of the paper trail to enable us to register the car on French plates. Now to the problem. After hitting a pothole the front passenger side strut top mount has failed and it is proving difficult to locate a replacement. I don’t mind if it comes from France, the U.K. or somewhere else but the car is off the road and we’re missing it 🙁 So once again your expertise and knowledge are called ups n to keep this cheeky little sportscar on the road. Thanks in anticipation.

Couple of years ago I replaced the front shocks on my B, I took the top bearings apart, cleaned and regreased the ball races (just like I used to do on bicycle steering when I was a kid!) Have the ball races broken?

Have the ball races broken? I haven’t seen it but left it with a local mechanic after it started clunking when turning at low speed. He’s going to source a replacement from the Netherlands. Hope it doesn’t take too long, I really miss it.

If I remember correctly to get the full assembly, bearing + race, I had to buy a pair which I think came out around 230 euros. They turned up quickly and were a perfect fit. Result! Hope this helps.
