Guys,

This is a bit embarrassing, but I don't seem to be able to pin point the location of the throttle cable on a 2001 Barchetta.
I just bought this beauty, unfortunately not without problems.

There is a rattle noise as the engine goes to idle, after accelerating it and I am trying to reproduce it by engaging the throttle flap(I do not know how it is called) that is moved by the cable.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the throttle cable. I looked everywhere in the engine bay.
The service manual(2000 range) mentions how the throttle casing can be removed/refitted, but there is no mentioning of the cable.

I don't think it is a drive-by-wire model. It does not have ABS, let alone this feature.

Could someone with a similar production year model give me a hint?

LE: I looked again in the Service Manual-> Cap 10 Engine -> Page 57
I do not have a throttle cable fitted parallel to the air intake big hose.
I can post a picture if needed. However, my engine seems to be a bot different (Code 188A6).

Thank you!

Hi!
This is a picture of my engine bay.
Fiat B 2001 year.
Cannot, for the love of God, locate the throttle cable.

For sure you will have one, your car is younger than mine, the throttle body is higher up than yours. The air intake pipe goes to the air mass meter, that's what you can see. The throttle body will be next along that pipework just be for the manifold, and that is where you will find the cable.

Hi Dave!

I am looking @ ePER.
If I compare the "accelerator control linkage" system from the link you provided with the one filtered after my VIN, there is a clear difference.
This is yours:

This is mine:

Mine seems to be M2 type ( NEW ECE F3 ENGINE TYPE - DAT 09-2000. Engine code: 188A6000 )

Not sure what that device above the pedal is.

No, problem. Actually you guided me in the right direction for investigating this.
