Hi - I had this wind stop attached to my 2003 B (facelift model).

I have the fixings to attach the brackets to the car.

Does anyone have this version of the wind stop in use on an earlier shape B? Are there pre drilled holes to attach the fixings on earlier mdel cars (say 97/98 model)?

Thanks for your help.

Julian.

I have that one on my 1998 B. There were no pre-drilled holes for the brackets on mine, so I had to drill some (which was a bit fiddly IIRC). On the plus side, the wind stop's instructions had a handy template for positioning the holes, which helped remove some of the guesswork. The main thing to avoid is locating the mounting brackets too high up, because the wind stop will then catch on the soft top when it's up.

Many thanks for this - much appreciated.

My B has now been sold (after 11 years ownership) so good luck with yours and all the other owners on here.

Julian.

Awww, shame! That's another one less in East Anglia for me to watch out for. Can't remember the last time I saw one on the road hereabouts.

I have one fitted not sure if the holes were pre drilled though, I will take some pics later to show where it is mounted if that will help

Before drilling any holes I would place the support clamps with tape and then check that you can lower and raise the hood without contact with the wind deflector top edge.

Subtract a say 2 to 5 cms and reposition. Now sit in car and check defector to head/neck position.

When happy, double check hood clearance, ensure level, then drill.

Or use the handy template!!! I could email it to you if that would help (assuming I can find the fitting instructions...)
