Can anyone tell me

My B has had a new front bumper at some point.

Should there be a grill or mesh in the openings below the number plate

Usually a mesh is put in place to stop objects damaging the radiator or for cosmetic reasons, I haven’t seen any forum comments on damaged radiators from hits by debris to Barchettas, usually old age gets the radiators first I think. Its difficult to see any mesh behind the front bumper and would restrict slightly airflow. Mesh would reinforce the bumper a little perhaps.
All this is my opinion only.
