Technical barchetta cranking but will not start

Hi folks new to the forum.
I have a 1999 Barchetta,recently changed the fuel pump in the tank after the fuel warning light on the dash lit up,the one that looks like an injector.Now cranks over but will not start.Fuel is reaching the fuel rail but the spark plugs appear to be dry. any ideas?

Try the fuel pump fuse. Possibly the fuel cut out switch underneath the driving seat. Or a faulty temperature sensor, this can be disconnected and try cranking it then. Cheapest option first

Check if the camshaft sensor is connected.

When you turn on the ignition you should be able to hear the fuel pump run before cranking the engine.

fuel pump is working.fuel is getting through to the injector rail but not to the cylinders as the spark plugs are dry.where will i find the temp, gauge?

Hi,Good news bad news.Cleaned a load of gunge off some electrical connections on what appears to be the alternator, near to expansion bottle has a drive belt.engine started.after 5mins gave it some gas fuel warning light came on.let it run 30mins, turned off, would not start but cranking.no spark to plugs,new plugs fitted.Any ideas?

If you look at this old post on the Punto site it might help. Some Punto ,Bravo and Stilo have similar engines.

hi Dave , replaced the spark plugs had the injectors tested ok. waiting for an adapter cable arriving for the OBD. I am now thinking crankshaft sensor. Do you know where its located? Cheers
