Re: Heat shield noise

Hi, depends upon why it is vibrating. Usually a result of a cracked shield where it is bolted to the manifold. A temporary solution can be effected by using a large washer under the nut to hold the crack or split more securely. A more permanant solution is replacement. Replacements can be found on ebay and frm
Henk at barchettaparts.com. A search on this forum shoul throw up a few discussion comments.

Re: Heat shield noise

They are a pain, I bought a new one from Fiat, didn't last long before it split. I have now removed it completely, chose instead to have the manifold ceramic coated.

Re: Heat shield noise

I had the split heat shield making a noise. The replacement part from Henk at barchettaparts looks a lot better built than the original part. So far, so good.

Re: Heat shield noise

Rip it off and wrap it with heat wrap bandage that rally cars use...looks fine if done properly..

Re: Heat shield noise
