General Tell us about you Barchetta

Mine came out of hibernation last week after at least 18 months left parked. I used to drive it daily but haven't been able to since dropping kids at school in the mornings. I wish I had looked after it better and kept it garaged now. I collected it from the garage after MOT this morning. It drove fine but the weather has not been kind to it and my wipers siezed.

I won't be keeping it but want to clean it up before sale. It will be so missed.

Lots of work done by my mate just after Christmas...
New rear discs and pads
Variator
Cam belt kit and water pump
Radiator
Filters
Ive ordered wheels for it..hope they look ok ..wanted a look that would suit so found something similar looking to cromodora wheels id seen on some 500's and 124's.
I Fitted ferodo ds2500 front pads as hopefully doing a trackday or 2 and maybe a sprint.
Fitted ITG air filter .. now just need a bracket to hold the air flow meter as its been moved.

Got bracket sorted to hold the new air filter set up steady. £3.19!!

Bought exhaust mounting strip with holes from Halfords. Bolted it to the air flow meter then measured height and put 90 degree bend to secure it under battery.

I have had my b for 7 months it's a riviera a great looking car black with red mohair roof and red quilted leather,
It's got 138 k on the clock and drives and sounds great, I had the car belt replaced.
Just had some welding done to the floor, as I stripped out the interior I give it a really thorough clean replaced the odd console bulb , repainted the console and a new gear gaiter, repainted the leather seats, they were a little worn on the bolsters and the odd scratch from studs on jeans,, now the seats look like brand new,
Upcoming plan is to repaint the car, job for next winterIMG_0015.JPG

Got back this evening from my 13th euro road trip with Fabio the Fiat.

Drove down to the Hockenheim ring for the WRX round.

The road trip was supposed to be 11 days and take in loads more stuff but

for reasons I won't bore you with it went down to 4 days after I binned off

most of the other stuff to visit.

1117 miles added on the car and had a bit of a rush to get my boat home ,so

gave the car a bit of a caning ,which it just dealt with easily.

As my pictures seem to now work here ,off the phone, it may be time to post

way more of them on my own thread.

Waddya think ?

I bought my silver le 1998 B 2 months ago now for a good price. Fell in love with it straight away. New fuel filter, fuel pump, battery, welded the inner rear wheel arches, nearside completely gone, offside not that bad.Removed the spoiler (aptly named) going to remove the chrome roll hoops, bodywork is really great for a 19 year old car, the lacquer is superb. I've done all the work myself which has cost very little. She drives superb now, what a difference the filter and fuel pump make at a cost of a night on the beer ?. Bought my wife a new Citröen DS3 so I treated myself. So glad I did. I love this car. :D

Sounds like you've been busy! Does yours have the red leather interior?

How are you finding the DS3? I loved my DSport THP - it was a great blend of performance, handling and comfort, and the black and yellow interior was simply epic!

Have been very busy. Had the floor covering up yesterday looking for rust. Quite damp under there , found a new hole only small, I'll weld a patch on that soon. Otherwise not too bad. Water has been getting in through roof seals which I have now adjusted and silicone greased. See what happens there. Fitted a CD player today, aerial won't work now, needs a relay or just a separate switch for up and down. Roll hoops are off now and looks much better. Tackling offside inner wheel arch on Monday. Not as bad as the nearside for rust. Ah well all good fun.
Le 968 red leather red roof Remus ss exhaust 17'' Enzo alloys.
Ds3 cabrio is superb

Snap! The LE silver/red combo is great IMHO. Mine is pretty rust-free (just some minor blistering on the rear wheel arches) but then it's not been out in the rain for the last 10 years!

Went to Festival Italia yesterday, second year of this show and a great turn out again, both of cars and people.
Only 4 Barchettas though.

Green car, very early RHD car on M reg.
