General fuel float on sending unit doesn't work no more

just wondering if anyone can help me? I have 1997 B and I live in Ontario, Canada.
The problem I'm having is that the fuel level sending unit that I repair a few weeks ago is not giving fuel level reading again and I was looking all over the internet for a fuel level sending unit and no luck all I find is a complete fuel sending unit, the sending unit works fine, just need the fuel level sending unit, do I have to buy a new fuel sending unit for my B. no one here in Canada has one and can't help me at all,
where can I Purchase a fuel level sending unit or the fuel sending unit, I'm having a hard time figuring out which fuel sending unit is the right one for my 1997 B. if I have to purchase one. as there are so many on the internet. Your help would be appreciated, thank you

Hi,
I think Little RedB used a Magneti Marelli replacement unit that includes the level transmitter (sorry if its not you Little Red B). Search for fuel pump on this site. The German (ebay.de) and Dutch ebay (ebay.nl) sites sell them, Barchettaparts.com must sell them. Pricewise anything between 50 and 120Euros plus postage, the pump is probably used by other FIATS but I don't know. Hopefully someone else can advise better.

is this the fuel level unit for the 97 barchetta, I had taken the fuel level unit off the fuel sending unit and tried to fix it but it did not work, the level sending unit in the ebay you sent me sure looks like the same one that I took off the fuel sending unit, but the seller is telling me that it does not fit my car and I have to buy the whole fuel sending unit because it does not come apart. so I'm a little confused here, I tried to purchase it and the seller on ebay asked for my frame number and I sent it to him, I think it's the vin number which is called over here in Canada not sure but he told me that the number I sent him this fuel sending unit is not for my barchetta and he canceled my purchase which I still have to confirm and the seller said that I have to purchase the whole unit because it does not come apart which I did take it apart. so what do I do here I little confused not to sure this is my first European car I have ever purchase and dam having problems with purchase parts for it

Hi, i am not sure if this is practical but can you take a photo of your unit and send the supplier a picture? Sometimesyou can only purchase the complete unit as they are not available to purchase the individual parts.

check on eper http://eper.fiatforum.com/ if it is there will be loads of people with a broken punto unit in their sheds as the bits the pipes connect to snap off

well I just purchased a whole new fuel sending unit from shop4parts in united kingdom this weekend total cost with delivery was 122.70 British pounds which is 228.69 Canadian dollars. sent them pictures of my pump and chassis number Now just have to sit and wait till it arrives hope it will be the right one

Hi I must say if my fuel gauge goes or my fuel pump packs it in I will scrap the both of them and get a stand alone fuel gauge which are quite common and an electric fuel pump which can be mounted outside the tank where you can actually get at it and solve these problems. Both are readily available on ebay. Pressure specs for the fuel injection system should be available from Fiat

got my fuel sending unit and put it in and all is good kept the other one for parts fuel pump that is. thanks everyone for your input
