Hi - my B needs a new roof but will have to wait until the Spring before funds are available :(

I do have access to a Garage for poor weather but when she is outside I need to source a temporary cover to avoid the water ingress. Has anyone bought a top cap cover from Ebay as per http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/2712...parms=clkid=684655474658457493&_qi=RTM1651766

Anyone got any other recommended suppliers of these type of products please?

Hi Uomodell'Italia I hope you had some success. Have you fitted a new hood cover yet? Just wondering what the price is, there are people here in South Africa who can make one for me, but I am wondering if I should go for the original rather?

Sorry for long delayed reply.... not sourced a new hood yet.
Bought a top cover from eBay - does the job but not ideal as blows off too easily - probably overpriced so need to bite the bullet and go for a total hood replacement once I have remortgaged for the rubbers!

On you tube their is a 21 minute video made for German dealerships to use as instructions for replacing the soft top covers (unfortunately in German). The video was originally copied and put on you tube by the Barchetta club in Poland. So search: Fiat Barchetta - wymiana dachu/ replacement of the roof Barchetta - club Poland. several owners have said they found it not to difficult. If you decide to go ahead why not advertise when on the forum and get some help or moral support/advice. I'm sure other owners would love to try to change one themselves. That's what I intend to do when I'm ready to have a go at it.

Hi Blackdog.
Brianpoole is correct I used that same tutorial, have a look at the video just to get an idea of the task.
No stitching is required just contact glue choose a warm day. tools you need are drill and drill bit for removing rivets allan keys, Stanley knife. also stainless cable perhaps, mine had broken so needed to be replace. its a long time since I did mine so hard to remember all the steps, just take your time, and give your self an afternoon to complete

Hope this helps Dave M

Ok thanks, wondering about the stainless cable though, where does that go?

The stainless cable is located over the side windows. it tensions the hood, to fit over the side of the hood frame,
If you look inside over your left shoulder just above your head you can see the cable fastener.
I think i used push bike brake cable to replace mine.
