I stupidly broke one of my centre heater vents today trying to clip on an air freshener to it. Lesson learnt - I am never ever going to buy any kind of stupid poxy accessory that touches a heater vent ever again!!

Anyway luckily I have found a source for brand new ones, but how does one remove the old ones is there a trick of doing it? as I don't want to force anything or damage the dashboard? Thanks in advance.......

Accorind to the service manual, the vents should come out by gently prying with flat screwdriver.
Never had chance to test it myself...

EDIT: found this
I would definitely try to protect the dashboard surface better than shown in video.

Did it to the two outer vents a few weeks back (when replacing the heater matrix). A screwdriver was not even needed. Just a pull-out (with care), gripping the center vent flap. I believe I did a semi turn when pulling it out.
