My B has aftermarket wheels 15", with wobbly bolts. Although I like the wheels the lacquer is starting to peel was thinking of refurbing them, but I have a chance for a set of a Punto 2008 with 195.55.16 tyres mine are 195.55.15. I know the PCB is the same but not sure of the offset are they just a straight swop? Would I need to put a lower profile tyre on?

Thank Pete, you have me thinking I did think the PCB was the same, looking around the web confirmes my thoughts would the PCB be stamped on the wheel's? I was more concerned about the difference in the off set the Barchetta is 32, Punto 35, would 3mm be detrimental in any way,
Regards Dave

Hiya Dave,

In my opinion!
Any 4x98 / 4x100- 15" to 17" 6-8 inches wheels can be fitted to the B as long as the offset lies between 30 to 40 max.

Of course this is not without some slight modifications depending, ie , spacers and spigot rings and wobbly bolts if using a 4x100 stud. depending on brand of wheels.

If i'm not mistaken, the standard B rims are a 4x98 bore 15"x6.5 with a 32 offset.

Its looks like the punto wheels you have shown list a thinner 6 inch wheel -45 offset. meaning the wheels would sit further in on the hub by 13mm than the standard. If the bore is not 4x98 and is 4x100
and you really want to fit these wheels you would need extended wobbly bolts, a 13mm upwards spacer to compensate, so maybe a 15mm spacer would create the same look or 20mm to slightly widen the track and possibly even new spigot rings.
The bigger size of 16" is not an issue.

Hope this helps.

Hi Kiry,
Thanks for your explanation. I am finding choosing wheels a nightmare, I am on a budget so was looking at the second hand market. The wheel that I was looking at I decided against as the offset is too much . I don't want to go down the wobbly bolt route, I have a set on my B now and find that fitting them a bit of a fiddle.
Your explanation has made me realise the relationship between the off set and the overall width of a wheel, unfortunately when looking at the second hand market the seller doesn't always know the specification of there wheels. I do have a spare set of steel wheels I may just have them sandblasted and powder coated.

If the wheel in the pic is a genuine Grande Punto one without spigot rings, and the info from Dave is correct, is the centre bore too small for the Barchetta hub?

Yes your correct Pete. When I enquired about these particular wheels the seller assured me they would fit. So appreciate your post,
Since looking for wheels I now understand a little better.

Pete, I think choosing the right style is difficult the Barchetta is a small car so I think it needs a simple design. I have looked at some Alfa wheels, but They for me look to much of an Alfa style, never sure if its appropriate or not to have a set of wheel's that kinda say look at me I belong on an Alfa.
Hope you understand what I mean.

Mostly because the seller on ebay was a fibber of collossal proportion when he said the tyres were useable. If I'm honest, they need a proper refurb and new centre caps too.
I've seen a pic somewhere of a black Barchetta with these on and thought it suited them well.

Also, not sure if people are aware that these rims are only 5 1/2 inches wide and need ~20mm spacers to fit on the B.

Yes eBay is a bit of a nightmare, you can't tell by looking at the photo, and some of the information is very vague.
Also gone off the idea of these wheels I don't want to be using spacers of that size. So thanks for that information.

Despite the rain today I've now fitted my newish Alloy wheels.
The rears required wheel spacers, bought from a very nice place in Wrexham (http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/wheel-spacers/hub-buddies-hubcentric-wheel-spacer) had to reduce the width as they only came in 16mm width for 98 PDC down to 12mm. The fronts I used the 5 mm spacer that was on the rears.
Still getting used to them regards looks. Opinions welcome first picture is last year with the multi spoke Fox Alloys. Second picture taken today between showers.
