Apparently the flexible section of my exhaust is worn/damaged and needs replacing to get through the MOT. B*gger.

There are some threads on this issue from 4/5 years ago, but has anyone had this job done recently, and can recommend a supplier? Is it worth trying to get a new braided section welded in, or should I bite the bullet and replace the whole section before the cat?

I have no real advice, but I have just had a new flexi piece weldedninto my exhaust on my van due to cost.almost 200 pound new or a universal flexi 35 pound

That's a really interesting suggestion (especially as I haven't yet got around to ordering the parts).

How much did you pay for it?

Mine sounds pretty awesome already (it's a Novitec system from the cat back) but I'm sure it could sound even more awesome!

(Edit - Ouch! £444 from Motorsport World! The pips are squeaking! It does look the business, though.)

Thanks jetweed.

Getting rid of the flexi is a big deal for me, as I live down the end of a long, unmade farm track, and I reckon that's what's done for the existing flexi. The extra clearance would be a bonus too (although the ground clearance on the standard B is pretty good, all things considered - I catch the underneath of my DS3 far more often :( ).

But having just shelled out £400 for a 40,000 miler on the Citroen, I'd struggle to justify another £500 for the B when I can get the job done for under £100.

Sigh.
