I am trying to work out if my car has the relevant points for mounting a hardtop. In the photo attached is it the hook to the left with the white nylon fixing?

The drawing in the manual looks different (i.e. two bolts either side of the loop).

If they're not there is fitting the barchettaparts replacement versions a drilling job?

Help appreciated.

Excellent, thanks HP.

Does anyone know if the bolt holes are already there to fit the mounting parts...going to order the bit from Barchetta Parts, unless anyone has some spares?

Few pictures of the little fella for those that are inerested. (y)

Hi, I have two Hardtops and have fitted them both to my B and my friends B without the mounting plates that you are asking about, the pins just sit inside the metal framework and the roof sits nicely when clamped down.

Same here. Mine's as tight as a drum when clamped down, with no rattles or shifting about, and I've not got the mounting plates either.

It's a tricky enough job to fit the hardtop as it is - it's jolly heavy and you've got to be careful to keep the pins away from the bodywork. If you were also trying to locate them into two sockets buried deep inside the well, it would be a proper b*ll-ache.

Love your B, btw. What's the exhaust? Looks fantastic! How does it sound?

I've fitted 3 with and without those brackets. Putting it on is just the same, with or without.
But... Without them the hardtop doesn't have a 'stop' so you can pull it onto the paintwork until you damage it.
They do have a reason why fiat has these put on their cars.

and yes, every barchetta has the holes with treath on it to bolt the brackets on.

I've got a spare set for sale if anyone is interested

Well the fella is now resplendent with a new aubergine hardtop roof. I think the colour goes quite well.

Was a bit grubby so I have given it a wipe over with degreasant , clayed, polished and waxed (mainly Bilt Hamber stuff).

Getting some wind noise from the drivers side window and a bit of squeaking from the rear passenger side. Will try and adjust the windows and the rear bracket.... i guess!

Guess the bracket makes it easier to not over tighten? Any tips on adjustments appreciated :)

The exhaust is a the DTR quad exhaust. Makes a nice noise and certainly looks nice.

Hi
Does anyone know if you can get access to see the condition of the soft top while the hard top is fitted?
Thanks

No, because the hard top sits on the cover of the rear compartment that houses the soft top.

It's a simple job to remove the hard-top if there are 2 of you to lift it off.

Hi all, hoping to revive this thread with hardtop question.
Has anyone got experience of buying from Germany to send to uk? I want
To get a DHL quote but don't know the dimensions or weight. Any other tips?
Cheers

Yeah I see that now. Not likely for a whole. I should have done it before I became a dad!
