' stamped a bit hard on the brake pedal this morning, and the toe of my size 10s managed to hit the white sensor switch located at the top of the brake pedal lever under the dash, grainy pictures below.. anyway, broke the plastic fastener, so the unit is just hanging loose now. Couple of questions - am I safe to drive? The brakes seemed to be 'sticky' and less efficient afterwards and the pedal seems quite hard with little travel to the floor. And what exactly is the sensor for? The blue tip is a pressure switch and should rest somewhere near the top of the pedal lever.

Once again, thanks!

Brake light switch
People won"t see you brake

:bang: Cheers Ollie, of course it is - an MoT failure, and the annual nearly due too. The weird thing is, as I write, Top Gear presenters on an endless Channel Dave rerun, are discussing this very issue. 13th. Sppooky.

Brake light switch sorted, thanks. In doing so, I found that the fin brake light is out - looks like an easy install compared with accessing the front lights - anyone have a code number for the bulb?
I was more concerned about the sticky brakes locking, but that seems to have righted itself. Like many others here, I've got handbrake efficiency issues, and even with new brake pads, don't feel overly confident on stopping distance.

Wondering if there is a separate fuse for the third brake light, and where it is located.. the two lower lights are fine, but the one on the boot is out.. checked the bulb and that's ok.
Thanks for the advice by the way. I'm no engineer, but read all the posts here, and am slowly learning!

You're in good company! There are a fair number of us on here who are fortunate to stand on the shoulders of the forum giants!
