Hi !
My name is Nathaniel, I'm 18 years old, and I'm a new owner of a nice Barchetta.
I’m actually going to get it in a week time. It's a year 2005 with (only) 23000 miles in blue.

I will need to change the cam belt (still the original on), and the exhaust (hole because of rust (n)

First question: What exhaust should I buy ?

I would like one that could bring a bit more bhp, and a nice little noise if possible :)
Supersprint ? novitec ? or other ?

Hope you can help me !
Can't wait to go and get it !
thanks !!

Hi Nathaniel and welcome!

A Barchetta as your first car - not bad eh? My first car was really dull.

My B has a Supersprint backbox and a handmade centre section. I can thoroughly recommend it. You won't find a Supersprint is really much louder than the original, but that's what I wanted. It goes better though. Be aware that when buying a Supersprint you are only getting the back section, although the site implies that it is cat back. That's why I had the centre section made to match.

Post some pics once you've got the car.

Will

Thanks for the answer!

It's actually my third car, I had a Citroen saxo at first, and just sold my VW New Beetle. Really wanted a Toyota mr2 spyder, but couldn't find one in LHD... I travel a lot to France, and I needed one...
I hope I’ll like the Barchetta :)

For the exhaust, should I change the manifold? I was thinking about changing to a Supersprint manifold, and have the rest custom made for me (handmade). In a garage or someplace, should be less expensive?
I’m in London, if you have a good place to do that ;)

Hi and welcome!! :)

Theres is lots of mods to be done should you wish, just have a search through at my KC3 PROJECT SILVER or the DOC ORANGEPEEL and a few others who have done a fair amount of modifications..

ALL GOOD FUN!!! But becareful once you start its very difficult to stop!!

Hi !
Yeah, I saw your car, really nice !
For the moment I'll just start with the exhaust, ohters things to come after that :)

Anyone could tell me where to go to have it made ?

Hi !
Well yes, my dad is English, and my mom in French. We live near Paris, a town called Saint Germain en Laye. (In Yvelines)
Half of my family is in London, so every 2 weeks I'm over there for a weekend.

;)

Ok!

Can highly reccomend the SS Manifold and rear box, You can try larkspeed.com from which is were i bought mine, and then second you must add a GSR or CDA induction kit to complement the exhaust system

These are worthwile mods to begin with..

Thanks for the help :)
I went on larkspeed.com, but you can't get the SuperSprint Manifold from them...
Any other sites ?
So it would be SuperSpint manifold and rear box, and the rest custom made ?

Thats strange. Best to give them a call, It may be listed as for the Punto HGT but fits the Barchetta. (same engine). Manifold is a must, mid section can be made stainless steel and I like the look of the SS back box, but you could choose to fit somthing else of your own choice.

Thanks :)

For the exhaust: I will take the SS Manifold, but for the back box, I wanted something a bit noisier... Not the same noise as the original exhaust...

Question: could I fit a motorbike exhaust, I mean just the silencer ?
If not, what other brands could fit ?

Still looking for good places to get all that done in London.
Thanks !

Steve, it really looks nice! Love it!
But I'm a bit lost...
I'm getting the Super Sprint Manifold (£450), and the rest would be, £158 for the Supersprint Front Exhaust + Centre Pipe, and £328 for the Supersprint Centre Pipe + Rear Exhaust / Back Box.

Approximately £1000.

You had yours custom made for £350 ?! The complete thing ?!
And what do you mean by “SS Longlife”?

I'm new to all that, please explain me :worship:

I saw the video, looks nice, but I would like something a bit more special.
Thanks

Hi Nat, and welcome. This is a great forum, loads of advice and interest. I've got an SS exhaust and GSR Induction kit on mine, and it sounds great without waking up the neighbours :)

Hi !
Thanks :)

Thing is, I want to be sure where I put my money, AND I have no neighbors ! haha:D

Hi Nat. SS = Stainless Steel. Longlife is the name of the company. Google Longlife Exhausts and you will find a dealer next to you. The Fiat Barchetta is on their price list and was £329 when I got mine. Mine is a cat-back system. It is only fitted from the Catalytic Converter back. With Longlife (and many other exhaust fitters) you can have the system as noisy as you like. Remember however, with the top down, the noise can become tiresome to the occupants of the car. I want my car to look original and had the fitter spend over two hours building a 'one into two tail pipe to match the original twin pipe look.

Steve

Thanks a lot for the explanation :)

I will look for one in London :)
Would a company like Longlife, build from the Super Sprint Manifold to the end?
That would probably be less expensive than buying the complete system from Super Sprint? How about bhp gain? Would the Longlife system bring as much as a Super Sprint?

Thanks again !
