Re: New owner of a nice little B. =) ME !!!

Hi Nat, and welcome. This is a great forum, loads of advice and interest. I've got an SS exhaust and GSR Induction kit on mine, and it sounds great without waking up the neighbours

Hi Nat. SS = Stainless Steel. Longlife is the name of the company. Google Longlife Exhausts and you will find a dealer next to you. The Fiat Barchetta is on their price list and was £329 when I got mine. Mine is a cat-back system. It is only fitted from the Catalytic Converter back. With Longlife (and many other exhaust fitters) you can have the system as noisy as you like. Remember however, with the top down, the noise can become tiresome to the occupants of the car. I want my car to look original and had the fitter spend over two hours building a 'one into two tail pipe to match the original twin pipe look.

Re: New owner of a nice little B. =) ME !!!

Thanks a lot for the explanation

I will look for one in London
Would a company like Longlife, build from the Super Sprint Manifold to the end?
That would probably be less expensive than buying the complete system from Super Sprint? How about bhp gain? Would the Longlife system bring as much as a Super Sprint?

Thanks again !

They will definitely build off the manifold but whether this will be the same cost, I wouldnt know. I wouldnt know about performance gains either. Plenty of folk on here will though. I'm not built for speed

Re: New owner of a nice little B. =) ME !!!

Got my answer

So it will be : original Manifold, original cat, and custom made exhaust by Longlife.
I'll get a nice noise, and a few more bhp.
I'll add to that a nice induction kit (hand made or not).
This will do the job for the performance part.

Hiya,
When you say original manifold do you mean the Super sprint or the standard Barchetta,

The SS manifold is much better than standard for bhp gain and the best buy,
then get the rest built in stainless steel, a performance catt 150-200cel will help with flow and still be within MOT limits and then you'l need a back silencer either from Supersprint, DTR , long life or one of your choice.

Hope that helps..

Re: New owner of a nice little B. =) ME !!!

Thanks

The thing is, £450 is a big budget for a 18 years old teenager...
And I'm not sure I really need it... I mean, here in France, with all the speed cameras, and all the police, it's hard to find a place where you can really enjoy all the power of you car...

If I find one used, I'll probably get it, but £450 is out of my budget for the moment.

A friend also told me that if change the manifold and all the exhaust system, I will need remapping, and thatís £250 more...

Re: New owner of a nice little B. =) ME !!!

Ok guys!
I've got it!

My dad went to get it today in London. I'm still in France for 2 weeks, and I'll go and get it during the holidays in two weeks.

What he told me:

Car looks very clean, inside in superb condition with upgraded speakers (very nice sound). Outside: little scratches on the front and the back, but nothing big. One headlight is broken, but I had to change them anyway for French roads. The exhaust has been welded because it was broken, so I'll go to long life to get an exhaust from the cat to the end.

He said that it was like driving a little toy, a sporty toy haha
And even with a broken exhaust, the sound was very nice

It looks very nice Nat. Possibly a dent in the front o/s wheel rim, but it might just be the photo. If it is a dent, it might be possible to repair. Let us know how you get on with the exhaust.

Re: New owner of a nice little B. =) ME !!!

Thanks, should be a little dent, we'll see.
For the exhaust, is 4inch to big for the end of the silencer ? Or is 3.5 better ?
