Hope everyone is making use of this fantastic weather we're having at the moment, er not.

Ages ago I bought a full set of rubber seals for my B from Simon Borrell, who provided an excellent service. There was only one issue, in that when the sprayers came to replace the windscreen surround rubber, they told me that the new one I had was far too wide accross the top of the windscreen, so they had to refit the original.

I assumed that I had been supplied with a faulty or wrong part - the mouldings look the same as the B it is just an extra 5 or 6 inches wide. Could it be a windscreen surround for the Alfa GTV Spider? Simon was very good about it and sorted a refund etc but didn't want this part back.

Has anyone replaced their windscreen surround rubber and can anyone offer advice as to the suitability of doing the following.......?

Cutting the top section of this oversized rubber to fit and using some kind of rubber weld to rejoin it. if indeed they are basically the same part but wider between the Alfa and the B, it might well be a useful source of spares for us all. I am aware that rubbers for the B are now almost impossible to find but Alfa spares might be more available.
