I am new to the forum but my dad had used it before as I bought the car off him and he said he got some very usefull help from here. Also this is my first car!

I canot for love nor money find a set of shock absorber top mounts for my 1995 Barchetta and I have now spent days looking in frustration. There has been suggestion that this part is interchangeable from a 90's Fiat Punto or Stilo?

Is anyone able to help?

Can't you just order the part at a fiat garage?

Barchetta top mounts can be purchased from any Fiat dealership, mine took 3 days to come in from Desira and cost about £140 for the pair.

Sorry I do not know if they are the same as the punto... pics on eper look similar but show different numbers??

Hopefully someone else will be along soon who can varify if they are the same.

If new mounts are too expensive. have a look on ebay I think there are a couple of B's being broken for parts at the moment (but beware the parts you recieve may be no better than the ones you currently have fitted) or you could check with guys selling B (or punto) suspension and see if they have any available cheaper than a dealer. (or tell your dad he sold you a duff car and get him to pay for them

I have two front shocks complete. they have only seen 21,000 miles are in very good condition, since i have upgraded to bilstiens.

Willing to sell for 100 euro plus shipping if your interested.

My o/s/f top mount disintegrated scattering rusty ball bearings after removal cos of 'clunks' Fiat Main dealer would put on back order for delivery in X weeks, but DTR had them in stock @ £96 a go. NOT a cheap item and a known B weak spot too. S/H is likely a poor stop gap imo since the bearing carrier had longterm severe rust and had broken up on my R reg model

I'm also looking for new top mounts for the front. Fiat sent them quickly but, despite what they'd said, they came without bearings. Apparently Fiat no longer make these particular bearings

Do the ones from Desira come with bearings? Google didn't turn up much.. do you have a link Afroking?

I've mailed Scuderia at the link below (Cheers Bollie) to see if the item is all-inclusive - looks like a reasonable price.

I guess DTR are the most likely UK source if all else fails.

I think this is the part. Veerpootkop translates as 'feather leg head', so I'm not sure!

I speak duth and it means the head of the leg of the spring.
in other words the top shock absorber mount
