FWIW, ours is a '95 with 215,000km on the clock. Sweet as a nut and still doing 400km on a tank full. Cam belt and variator changes and a good quality oil seem to be the most imprtant thing for them.
I've done 200,000 miles (320,000 KM) in mine, admittedly I'm on my 2nd snapped cambelt depsite changing them before the recommend service interval but the car is such a great drive that I can't bear to get rid of it.
