South West Barchetta meet weekend Fri 27th & Sat 28st August 2010
Dear All,
I have organised a Barchetta meeting for any Barchetta owners (or similar sports cars) who wish to attend. It’s on the August Bank holiday weekend.
The general plan for the meeting is to rendez vous on the Friday evening at Wyvern Gliding Club at Upavon Army Airfield on Salisbury Plain, (SN9 6BE) where those who wish to glide can do so for £30 a head (I’m an instructor there at weekends) and those who don’t can enjoy a cup of tea at the launch point.
After gliding we will be able to use the Gliding Club’s clubhouse bar for a drink and stand around outside comparing Barchettas etc!
Those who wish to stay on will then move on to The Crown Hotel at Everleigh, where the Landlady has rooms available for those who wish to book one (special price of £50 per night, usually £75 – mention my name and the car meeting) or if you would rather camp, she has agreed that you can do so in the very large garden to the rear of the Inn. I will be staying over there in a room.
The plan for Saturday is to meet at 1100hrs outside the Crown and then head off for a blast around Wiltshire, stopping for lunch and at a couple of points of interest, before heading back to The Crown Hotel for dinner and drinks later if you wish to do so.
As you can see, quite flexible, You can come to all or part of the meeting.
As mentioned, the main focal point for the event will be The Crown Hotel at Everleigh on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire.
