Well Seems I've finally got my "round tuit"

So I figured it's about time to fit the guides

Old ones were totally worn out, top guide was broken off... no wonder the windows used to flap !

Daves new guides worked a treat (y) Had to drill out attachment holes and use a dremmel to counterbore for new bolt head but other than this it took about 1 1/2 hrs per side to fit.

Also managed to find the source of an annoying clicking noise when winding windows down in the auto mode.

Seems that the cable support had broken and was rubbing on pully. DSC04601.jpg

I've managed to adjust the cable and picked up on the next step

After a bit of adjustment windows now fit snuggly behind rubber flap. No need to press on front corner when closing doors :D

Now time to wind down windows, drop the lid and take the old girl for a spin :)

Fancy writing up a "guide" ?

I took pics along the way with an intention of doing a guide but after digging out the old thread and viewing the guide mentioned here
http://www.fiatbarchetta.nl/html/raamgeleiders.html

I decided that the guy did such a good job (even if you don't understand dutch) that I could not write a better one.... his pics say almost everything...

Only thing I did different was to fit nuts to the screws. I would have prefered to have used rivets instead of screws but didn't want to go into work to get hold of some ( I knew they were looking for people to work overtime)

If anyone else needs the rivets I'm sure I can supply them FoC.
