Well recent rain caused a small swimming pool in the hood recess. Found two small cracks in the rear screen/lens.

Fiat price for a new plastic zip-in rear screen = £569 + VAT :yuck:(n)

My local "trim" expert was not contactable (probably gone bust) and as the original vinyl hood is now 5 years old we decided to replace the whole hood.

So a Silver 'B' with black hood is soon to emerge with as a Silver 'B' with Green Mohair hood!

Are there any other silver & green beasts out there?

With paint damage due to a broken side window still annoying us I had this great/daft/looney/stupid idea of having a blended green paint job along the doors, rear wings and front wings, fading out into the main body silver.

What do you guys and gals think! Too stupid, too tarty, too (n)

Whatever your views the hood is a done deal.......

Hmm. I thought you said you were gone like a Barchetta on a mission. To a mission more like! :D
Mind you, silver and green go well. A gentle blend along the swage line sounds good. I remember Ford doing a blue and silver limited edition Granada many years ago and I seem to recall that some were done in green over silver. Always the darker colour over the lighter though.
Anyone with paintshop abilities?

Go for it Nick.

Sounds ok but be careful. I think Opel do a Tigre in 2 tone silver grey/ silver and green / silver with chrome trim..can look a bit tarty.

Mine is in for minor body repairs (10 yrs of parking dings) new bumpers and full respray. Toying with the idea of having the soft top taken out and hard top fixed permanently and blended with the bodywork.

Any thoughts on this?

Well, today we drove out with a black vinyl hood and returned home with a lovely green mohair hood.

The silver a green really do go together well. When the weather is better and the car clean we'll try to remember to take a picture and post back here so others can see how well this green & silver go together.

Paint job still undecided - could end up just trying some touch-up and polishing to begin with. Hell of a lot cheaper and the car has been in so many wars recently (see other posts in "Barchetta Open Season") that our enthusiasm is a little dented at the moment.

Well, here is green & silver together:

(y)Looks cool, mind you living near the coast, the seagulls are going to enjoy target practice on it. Get the new hood properly protected ASAP.

Looks very good. Was expecting you to come up with a traffic light green colour..:D

hi sorry mate i have messed up your post, hit the wrong button first time for every thing.
any way mohair roof best stuff if auto glym from halfords get a kit for cleaning and waterproofing good stuff.(y)
Trouble is there's never enough waterproofer and they don't sell it seperately. I ended up buying Renovo Ultra proofer, it just brush's on and I must say lasts very well, about 3 applications per year keeps the hood in tip top condition and she's my daily run and kept out in all weathers.:D
