Can anyone tell me (with a pic?) where the MAF is in my car? Is it inside the throttle body? I cleaned the butterfly valve in the throttle body, but still having idle problems on a cold start.

Well, I think I've narrowed my problem down to either the MAF or Temp Sensor/Cold Start sensor.

When the car is started from cold I will not idle properly for about 30 seconds. Tonight it was running horribly, miss fired once or twice, failed to start hot engine. My guess at the moment is the Temp/Cold Start sensor - as I took it out today, cleaned it and my problems seem to be amplified.

Anyone know where I can get a new one?

On early Barchettas you'll find the MAF just after (well, before depending on how you look at it...) the air filter. It's the part that the bottom red line in this pic points at.

Looking at that it appears the device is in the throttle body..certainly didn't find it in the pipe when I stripped out the miles of ducting to fit a CDA...

The newr B's say post 2000 had then in the the throttle body, a small resistor type look somewhere on the air intake. over £350 to replace.

Have you also checked your Spark plugs? Injectors? Lamba sensor?

If the MAF is playing up I would expect it to drive badly, not go over 3000 revs. I think you have a fuel issue.

Check your spark plugs 1st, re-set the ECU - Take of the negitive for 60 sec's, then put back, start the car and idle for 5 mins. Then drive like you normally to.

If this does nothing try fuel cleaner to see if the injectors are dirty.

Let us know how you get on. (y)

Spark plugs are new, and engine is very happy over 3000RPM. How do I check lambda sensor or injectors? I've run Forté fule and inujector cleaner in it twice.

Really appreciate the help!

Get some injector cleaner - £20 from halfords for a top quality one or £5 for average.

Clean out the entire fuel system.

How many miles a day do you drive it?
