For what it's worth, I've not had single response for my S reg. b.

Not quite as tidy as yours though!

Well, its the correct colour so it's going to be popular with the more discerning buyer. Its exactly what I had in mind when I bought mine in May. Mine had similar work done and a good paint job. It also has leather and an original hardtop. I paid 3k for mine which was slightly more than the budget and a lot less than the seller wanted. I reckon you should get 3 - 3.5k but, of course, the winter isn't perhaps the best time to sell. Good luck anyway Steve.

Market value is 2K. The mods mean nothing on this cars re-sale. Best to sell them on and make your car totally standard.

Also bad time of year to sell the B. They go down in value now and rise again next May.

I bought mine last Oct (1997 B) for £1600. OK I have spent a few quid on her.

Sorry - You sure you can not keep her until May 2010??

:nutter: :nono::hm::stupid::life:

I'm sure you could get £8-9.000 for it in Norway - even though it's red :)

Steve, think about France, second hand car prices here are ridiculous (as in expensive), a silver 'B' in not too bad nick was nearly 8000 euros at a Fiat dealership locally, late 90's model. I bought mine from an English chap near here (Midi Pyrenees) who had imported a couple and I must admit yours in in a LOT better nick than mine. Shame about the colour though...
Ahem, I think I hear someone at the door with a large axe to grind, excuse me whilst I run away and hide!
I can put you in touch with the chap here if you (and he) wish.
Steve.

Speaking to guy who runs classic car auctions, the last one he sold was a 99 mint condition for 3.3k

Your top price would be 3.5k but it would be a struggle to achieve this I reckon. As Nino said, mods mean nothing to the price and will just make it a more attractive purchase to someone interested in those mods.

I just sold mine for 2k but the bodywork was pretty tatty and it was due a cambelt change on the next service. Doesn't sound great but when I looked at it was a decent price as I avoided the following -

Road tax - £200
MOT/service - £170
Cambelt - £250
Bodywork repairs - £350

Worth a lot more over here, rarity value. Sometimes go for insane money. I'd reckon you would get €6000 for a good one but you might have to wait a while.

Downside is you would have to put it on Irish plates (unless UK buyer taking it back..unlikely)which will set you back €3k so probably not worth it.

So, on reading the comments from our friends in France and Dublin why not place an ad on e-bay, especially the French site. One guy on here sold a B to a man who came over from France to buy and I think he got a good price for it. A lot easier than taking the car overseas to sell, worth a try anyway. Mind you, if you must sell it would be better to hang on until the Spring if you can. Good luck

cheers for your comments , after my visit to DTR the owner paul went over the car and said 5.5k to the right buyer a bit ambitous i thought , but 4k for a low milage mint condition uk car with nothing to do wouldnt be to over the top .
I,m hoping its not going to be sold , we,ll have to wait and see

steve

I wish you well with that. I think 4k would have to be a top drawer mint minter if you get my drift. Full spec with good leather, aircon etc. 3.5 would be the max realistic?

I guess it all depends on who sees it. It's like my car, I have spent 6K on it and it may be worth that or more if the right buyer is around. Or it could be worth market value for a car of that age, not how good of an example it is.

I personally think they are undervalued cars and yes 4K for your mint one is a good price and well worth paying, you have a classic with out the classic faults.

Just the time of year is bad as it's getting colder...

I sold a B that was 3yrs old for 8K a few years ago, it was a mint Red top of the range version.

They say second hand cars have gone up in value....

So it all depends on who is looking. Good luck.. (y)

odd .. because when I was looking earlier this year the 3.5k ones were pretty flawed .. I paid a lot more for mine, mainly for the very low mileage. I spent a lot on it (new OEM wheels, exhaust, cambelt service etc) it's now pretty much mint but I would have to pretty desperate to let it go for 4k.

If you had 4k and actually went looking for a mint one , aircon etc etc I think you'd struggle ..

Just so you guys know, we just sold a silver Riviera completely overhauled by us mechanically and resprayed for £7500. It had 35000 miles on the clock, Barchetta's are going for alot more than they used to, forget what glasses guide says. If it's low mileage and mechanically perfect, you'll get what your looking for.

Interesting. Would you mind posting their names? I have a lot of money locked up in a Nigerian bank and I need their help to release it as I can't access the money for security reasons.

Seriously You are fine salesmen and with excellent cars (I have one of yours) but 7.5k for a B, no way!
