Needing replacement belts and thought it wise to replace the variator at the same time. So can anyone advise on how much this might cost? I know the parts cost 'buttons' but what about labour? How many hundreds (thousands?) is it likely to cost?:)

In the spirit of giving examples too far south for you...

In Lytham. I have used him for a few years on a variety of my italian cars! Very passionate and a great attention to detail. another forum user Spiderboy is having his done there for £380+VAT. hopefully his feedback will be positive.

Loving the picture and quote.

Thanks kindly to you all for the info(y) Guess I won't be travelling quite so far to get it done otherwise the petrol, food and overnight stops should bring it up to well over £500!!:D Good to have an idea of costs for comparison though. I think I'll phone the local Fiat dealer and see what shocks await me!!

I had mine done by the main dealer Steve if i get a chance i will go back the reciepts i also replaced the variator at the same time i think it was about £430 , I shall have to replace mine next year , This will be the first time for me to own a car where i have had it long enough to change the belts for a 2nd time in ownership .

Thanks for that Ricky, helluva lota money! Don't use that as an excuse to get rid of your car though:mad: The local Fiat dealership has quoted £353 for the belts so it probably figures as the same price as you paid for the variator as well. Needs must I guess as to ignore the belts is a bit like playing Russian roulette with a much higher price in the end:cry:
