General Bike carrier

I've asked about this before and there doesn't appear to be an easy solution, if you have a boot rack it's possible to transport one on there. There is also the option of fitting a tow bar to attach a rack to that.

I went to Evans Cyles and they tried out a Saris Bones 3, but there wasn't enough body work for it to fit securely.

try this bike, you can fold it in the middle for easy transport... but, this can be very painfully if it fold during riding... i know.... to bad, don't have any pic with car steering wheel installed... :slayer::slayer:

I put two bikes on the rack, but I don't think I could get the roof up at the same time. I also felt they overhung the sides a little too much.

They were just standard "soft-roader" bikes. I would imagine I'd have done better if I'd taken the front wheels off!

The other thing to watch out for is the electric aerial. It's very easy to pack the rear rack, then get in the car, put on the radio and have the aerial try and go through whatever you've packed on the back.

I managed to get my mountain bike into my B with both wheels off (behind seats with tyres let down), seat post out and bar/stem hanging. It was a squeeze even then. I also managed to dent/scratch the passenger door inside so wont be doing that again.

Next time I need to do this I think I would look at removing the passenger seat!
