Hello all - trust you're all well. This is a follow up to my last post 'Nursing my 'B' back to health.

I'm currently doing up my 1997 'B' and the main obstacle seems to be sourcing the rear trailing arms (ABS model) at a price that is more reasonable than the £251 per side  my fiat main dealer has quoted me! The near side rear is the one that needs replacing, is it nescessary or advisable to do the other at the same time - just in case?

Does anybody know a better (cheaper lol) source than main dealer? Are they the same as Mk 1 Punto arms - some people say yes, some say there is a difference...confusion :bang:

Any advice appreciated.....ta.
Danny.

Are you refering to the swing arms if so I done one end of last year, mine has ABS, and cost me about £90 from my fiat dealer? Have I got the right part then!!!!! Didn't need the ABS sensor as I was able to use the original, otherwise another £80.

Just seen your other thread and it is the part I replaced at £90, that was me doing the job which is not that difficult to do. If you need advise if you want to do it just ask.

I changed a swing arm on my Barchetta a while back and you can find pictures and info on my docorangepeel project thread. Getting the ABS sensor out is a pain but it can be done with a socket, copper washer and a hammer.

FYI stay away from the silver metal part of the ABS sensor that has the fixing bolt hole, you think you can use this to help get the sensor out, well you cant and it will snap off.

Sounds good to me, but just to be sure....

.....is it categorically the Mk1 Punto Trailing arms I need to purchase? Not Brava, or other?

Cheers guys

FYI dont forget to get replacement hub nuts while you are at it. (Shop4Parts.co.uk sell them)
