Styling 18" Alloys (DO or DO not??)

i know about tacho, but on Technical Examination (MOT) i have to register bigger alloys and if difference is bigger than xxx% then i fail... also cops can take my car and send me to extraordinary MOT if they notice something is not as paper says. but, this is probably different from country to country...

Are you talking as an MOT tester or a person submitting a car for the MOT?

My understanding is that the MOT tester has to test the car a presented and to compliance with the current MOT regulations. If you have 19 inch wheels that do not foul the body work, do not stop fully steering lock and do not protrude beyond wheel arch, are correctly and securely fitted and have road legal tyres (correctly fitted) then you pass the MOT. Now clearly if you push the boundaries of what if grossly obvious and clearly wrong e.g. 30 inch wheels or tank tracks then questions will be probably asked. Otherwise the nuiances of 15" vs 16" vs 150 v's 155 profiles etc. etc. are I believe not and MOT tester's remit.

Type testing is different.

I like these too.

How about these!

I thinking of putting them on mine but will paint the centre slightly darker like anthrasite.

Hi, Barchetta 97, looking at your profile, you have a pic with similar wheels, do you have a side on pic with these on. Many thanks. KC

Hi KC! If you mean those 15" borbets I have to check, haven't used them since last winter. Here you can find side profile with those alessios, kind of odd pic & looking a little high.. :D

edit. on profile pic they are borbet CB's if I remeber correctly..

Hi and thanks! its the Alessio's i wanted to look at, they are similar to the ones i'd like to purchase. Look good but you should definatey lower the B and in my opinon possibly consider painting the centre of the wheel slighty darker. Would look fab!

Np!.. :) That pic was from last summer, now b sits 3cm lower.. (y) Those alessios are in so bad condition (can't see in pics) that I'm thinking of trying them in black with polished edges, if they don't look good it's time for new set.. :D

Hiya! Robot,

No i diddnt, they fitted fine, my rims are 17x7's .

I believe Lima has 225/40/17 on his blue B and that looks great.

I have since added 20mm spacers just to widen the track and look cosmeticly better.

I have 225/35/17 with spacers, and yes... I feel pot holes! I had Goodyear F1s on and they were brilliant, but they no longer make this size, so I now have some other Goodyears but the tread isn't quite as sexy

Funny! :) I printed your pic, cut round the wheels and lowered it. Looks great. I also coloured the centre of the wheels with pencil and yr B looks alsome. Try it. (y)

Photoshopped it a little bit lower and with black wheels & polished edges and I kind of like it.. :D maybe yellow brake calibers?.. might be..

KC3 - email me a photo of your car (side on preferably, not front or back!!:bang:) as well as the rims and I'll photoshop em for you. I did the same when choosing mine, to see what 17s would look like instead of the 15s I had at the time.

Let me know what size rims you have now, and what you want the PShop'd image to show. I'll give you bigfoot wheels if you like :D

Will PM message you my email address

The first is nice, a bit porcshe'y

Also i had a look into the german barchetta site, if you look at their showroom there is a variaty of B's with different rims on. Great to get an idea of what suits it best.

Personally something like this is my favourite.

Don't be a sheep by getting what everyone else gets. Be bold, and consider some of these on your B. Pure class! :D
