As you have always been so prompt and helpfull her comes another Q.

Headlights - How do you remove them?

Bumper removal?

Thanks

If you have a pdf let us know.

Cheers and merry X-mas....(y)

Hitting another car from behind at about 20 MPH should do the trick...

Failing that... yep, there are a couple of bolts at the back and I believe that the bumper has to come off for the last bolt... sorry I should remember exactly... I took mine out a coupe of months ago.... ( a combination of both methods...) :bang:

Bumper is easier to remove than the lights...

One mount is at the front under the light (probably you have to remove bumper, but not sure...), the other is inside the wing behind the inner plastic wheel arch and the last one is inside the engine bay.

I have not removed the front lights (yet) but you may be able to get away with just removing the front inner wheel arches which is quite a simple job.

Once the inner wheel arch is off it looks like this;

I don't think you will need to remove the bumper - but I have been wrong in the past.....

No need to remove bumper.. :) there is that one mounting in front, behind bumper but you can easily open it.. if you have small hands or right tools.. :D

^ small hands... hm.. there are a bunch of kids running on the street near my house... maybe i can catch one...

i just found some condensation in the passenger front light housing.. me thinks i need to take the off and seal them again.. any advice on how to do that?:bang:

^ there are few threads about that. you need to remove headlights and then remove that plastic... glass... but it's sealed with some silicone and is hard to remove, you have to heat that silicone and carefully and slowly removing this with flat screwdriver or knife...

One quick point, while I can see the logic in removing the lens to give it a quick clean the units are not sealed - so you may go through a world of effort to get rid of the condensation only for it to re-appear a couple of days later!

This happens to our 'B' every now an then. Until there is a visible pooling of water or the fish settle in then just keep a eye on the condensation.

I have had two B's, one from new and now my 97 project. As long as no water is getting in (say leak) then your fine. All lights no matter which car will have condensation in from time to time. It's just nature... But they should not be holding pools of water. The back of the light can be removed via a few simply clips (Just removed mine today) 4 bolts, and like Lee said - Just remove the inner wheel arch and you can get to the 4 bolts. Need an extension to your tools to get the last bolt.

4 Screws -
One at the bottom front connecting the bumper
One 20cms up on the front.
One one the inner arch to the left of the spring
one to the bottom right of the sill

Careful not to crack the plastc (I did)
When this is removed the light is easy to remove. Why not paint the calippers when you have the wheel off (oh forgot to say that) remove the wheel - I presumed you would know that part.

I would post photos but new phone does not like Windows Vista.
