Thanks (y)

Now, if I only knew where the starter motor is...

Couldn't get a photo of it while changing the 'stat, so nicked Topher's photo (Apologies and Thanks!). The starter motor is ringed in red.

Hi Alex,
seems that u got a lot a problems with the little B, don't worry eventually u will fix them and ur wallet :p
I'm from RO too, but now I live in Czech Republic...well let's just say that I think we are the only 2 romanians which had like a lot of similar problems with the B (Broke my front bumper too - got it fixed like new...had the same issue with the windows... u can try to adjust them but if the plastic guides which guide the windows up/down are broken...well that sucks it costs like 35EUR a piece...check this links

On mine I found that the idiot prev owner replaced them with some metal ...it works like crap :bang: I am thinking to buy at least 2 of them 2 fix the noise pb....but I am thinking of an alternative...35Eur for a plastic...not too cheap...Anyone has a better ideea??? how much for the piece at fiat? or what is the part nr??
Lets see..what else...I broke the engine hood open lever...the cable was replaced again by the prev owner with ..some wire bad ideeea...
I need to change my hood..
a lot more...that i did on the B, but now it runs "perfect" or at least it will be after I do more adj...change the clutch bearing...
Fuel consumption should be around 9 ..that's how much I have ...I did the math every time I fill the tank...last time I had 8.7
and many other pbs...don't wanna remeber though...
feel free to contact me by Ymess id [email protected] week I won't be available but..u can try

good luck

They should twist and pull out of the headlight unit, then the bulb pulls out of the plastic holder according to the handbook.

hey... thanks. I did it :)

i realised something while doing it... It's normal after 3 months (i never checked the cooling liquid level) to have the antifreeze tank empty?

I put almost 1 liter back in.

Those from the service could've put in there less liquid than it's should've get in there? and get the tank full cause off the air blocked in the cooling system?

For me it's strange cause i changed everything 3 months ago... and now... i was shocked to put back 1 litre of antifreeze.

If it's losing that much, check for leaks. It's possible if they've changed the coolant at the service that they haven't bled it properly and the level has settled, but keep a close eye on it.

i hope it's just the bleeding problem... I drove it yesterday and today, and seems that the level it's ok... I hope that it's not all the liquid in the oil...

Take the oil filler cap off and have a look underneath, what you don't want to find is a load of creamy white/yellow gunge. A very thin coating isn't unusual in cold weather if the car hasn't been used for long runs.

Ok. Thanks... I'll look for it.

It's usual that the antifreeze liq tank it's kinda dirty inside? was smth like green dirt on the bottom.

Over time there will be a bit of a deposit collecting on the inside of the bottle etc., but the water should be clear-ish blue or red (or whatever colour your antifreeze is) there shouldn't be any oily spots on the surface.

This sounds daft, but sniff the coolant too and make sure it doesn't smell of exhaust, petrol or oil. Should smell sweet.

hey!

i took out the oil filler cap and i saw nothing wrong... should smell a little like burned gass? cause mine it does (the oil was changed 500 km ago).

the coolant it's clear... nothing weird at first sight... how can i bleed the cooling system?

thanks

Open the valve on (the top of) the radiator, take off the cap of the bottle and let the engine run.
