Bloody hell!

Just got off the phone with my local mech who is ordering me in some hood rubbers. He phoned just to make sure I wanted to go ahead with the order as the middle rubber was coming in at 80 quid and the rear at 90 quid!!!.

I knew they were expensive, but I thought they were more along the 50-60 mark.

Feeling feint.

Jon

Has to be done I'm afraid. Water was cascading in on my home leg of the Scottish Barchetta run. The windows will need to be adjusted as well but the gaping hole in the mid rubber is the big concern.

i can't believe that these aren't available aftermarket, i guess the lack of barchettas about makes it non viable.

need a complete set of rubbers both sides on mine, only just paid for new roof, so that is one expense i could do without.

They have been £80 per rubber for quite some time now, I spent months last year trying to find an after market supplier with no luck :(

Don't know if this is any use - in this month's Practical Classics is an ad for "specialist suppliers of rubber seals and trims for classic, modern and kit cars" - www.sealsplusdirect.co.uk or 0845 226 3345. Even if they don't do B hood seasls, maybe if enough of us asked, they would!

Hey Jon I didn't notice you bailing out your little boat, I could have lent you my bilge pump had I know:D:D Hope you get them replaced at a better price(y)

It was just after I left you guys at the filling station. Hammering down with rain, had to jam a towel between the window and hood:eek:

I now know how to adjust the window in terms of height and angle etc, so this and the new rubbers should hopefully sort things......hopefully.

Needed new wheels bearings last MOT and service so it's been a pretty expensive week B wise.

I know this is a stupid question, but can they be sourced from Italy?

cheers
