Is it true that the Barchetta shares the floor pan of a Punto? I badly need new metal for mine! Also rear inner arches - could they also be shared?

Thanks for the help. I am having useful e-mail coresp with Barchettaparts. Do you agree that Punto floor pans would fit adequately well?

Cheers

Richard

I would suggest giving DTR a call, I was in there a couple of weeks ago and the chap that changed my variator said that they do have experience of replacing floors on Barchetta's - no knowledge like experience!!

Their number is 0208 878 6078, you may need to leave a voice mail but they will usually call back within a couple of hours.

Thanks. I did ring them, but they were suggesting that if it gets to total floor replacement, the car wouldn't be worth it. Also no new Barchetta front pans available. I'm probably going to get a piecemeal weld up, if possible. Cheers.

now there is floorpan and floorpan...

I assume you are not talking about the whole chassis?
If it is the whole chassis, then better scrap, cuz whatever (expensive) repair you do, MOT will always be a gamble then.

If we are talking about floorpan as in "non structural metal sheeting - like the footwells" then it is simply the old Alfa Spider appproach: cut out the bad pieces, and (spot)weld some new sheeting in place. Then cover with thick layer of waxoil :)
