Hi guys, anyone interested to get this thing with the Airbag Light fixed? They sure charge a lot for a simple reset. So here is my proposal: let's try to put our neurons to work little bit. I dig out the site for this problem, but I still didn't find a solution.
As I understood there is only the software missing.
I did some airbag resets on VAG cars, but none on FIAT.
For anyone willing to help on this matter I have a lot of software for cars (like 14 DVD's with data): Autodata, Bosch, service books, manuals (including the one for Barchetta)...testers,OBD tools, and a lot of Diagrams to build your own data cable. In my home contry I got contacts at auto services, but none of my friends from there have software for this car. Would be great if someone could get a hand on the softwre from FIAT autoservices.
Now I'm in CZ Rep. and don't have all my tools here, anyway I got a contact who will build the cable for me here, Last time I buid one it was only with wires and parts :D (I don't know how to build the circuit board - and I was to lasy to learn & do it)but it worked. anyone interesed can contact me on YahooMessenger: id: constantin_pop83 or mail ([email protected])

By the way - anyone have tryed this? (I didn't got to the SRS multiplug under the central console (they are not referening to the 3 pin OBD at the passengers side), as I don't have a garage here and outside it's ****ti weather since a while) :
http://www.auto-diagnostic-codes.com/plugins/FiatSRS/FIAT-SRS-60-Barchetta.html
\\\\\
airbag light faults can be read and turned off with a piece off wire and a switch linked to srs multi plug located behind centre console do not disconect multi plug but connect a wire to rear of plug light blue/white wire via a switch to earth turn on ignition lights operate switch for 1-5 seconds srs light will flash a fault code to turn out airbag light operate switch for 5-10 seconds then turn off ignition disconect wire and switch turn ignition back on hopefully airbag light is out good luck
\\\\\

Q: ON the PS side at the foot I got the 3pin OBD connector plus another black wire with a end plug not connected anywhere. As I deducted from the electrical scheme (I might be wrong) -it's some groud wire to the Airbag unit - anyone knows about it?
- I did connect on the OBD pin with BOSCH KTS I manage to get fault codes reading, but airbag reset can't be done trough this, (as we know that there are separeted controllers ECU and SRS, not like VAG for instance)

 So let's try see if we can fix this annoyng issue.

sounds a great idea cant be a lot of help to you though but i can make tea while you work !!!
try sending a p m to a member here called clawliger he works in fiat i wonder if he could help out,i just payed £40 to have my air bag light put out, so i have my fingers crossed that you can come up with something

Errr! Read the website. Very high tech (not) mucking about with expensive electronics with a bent paperclip...:chin:

This is second time around for this idea?

If it works good luck but I'd be afraid, very afraid of earthing / frying something that wouln't appreciate the gesture. Devil of a lot of amps in a car battery :nono: Man from Del Monte He Say No!

Could be expensive. What we need is someone who could donate an old b before completly scape to test out theory to see if it works. Anyone got one

hello,

i have a question... on b the light didn't went on for a couple of secs when i turned on the key...so i changed the bulb, and now it stays on all the time. What could be the problem?

And another question.
The brake pads wearing light have to turn on for a couple of secs when i turn on the key?
on the left side (down) under the watter temp meter, there is a led like a small dot. What's that for?
It's turning on sometimes?

Thanks.

The old bulb was blown and didn't light. Now you have a new bulb which works and an error code in the airbag ecu which needs clearing before the airbags or seatbelt tensioners will work.?.If you move the drivers seat with
the ignition switched on then heyho! its off to Fiat we go with tinned squid and 50 quid for 10 seconds on the computer to reset the system.

Not got one of them (2000 Riviera) Under the water temp gauge is the passenger airbag light..yellow and the warning triangle light..red.

Do some versions of the B (Japanese?) have a catalyst temp warning. i had an Alfa with this fitted. took a year to find out what the red light was after..err spirited testing of the car's performance envelope ('ragging the arse off it' to you lot).

Thanks for your answer,

The guys from the service reset the airbag light, and now it's ok... now i have other questions.

The fuel level shows wrong the fuel level... at the first line (counting from zero) i still have 20 liters of gass.
When you turn on the key and the fuel level goes up... has to light in red the red gass pump ? just for testing?

Thanks for your helping... i'm new in this stuff,,,

Fuel gauge warning light is the petrol pump symbol bottom right of the fuel gauge. Lights up in bright yellow. The gauge thing is wildly inaccurate when full and gets more accurate as the level drops. On mine the warning light usually comes on briefly before the needle rises and it goes off.

On most cars the warning light is separate from the gauge (Her Polo hasn't had a working gauge for the last 5 years so the drill is to fill it full, set the trip to 0 and about 600k later the light comes on..) In the B the warning light is connected to the gauge..non working gauge no warning light..cheapskate Eyties..On the Skoda it was accurate to the last drop..when the needle reached bottom the engine stopped.

Don't run your fuel level too low as there will be a load of water, sediment and general crap in the bottom of the tank which can glue up the injectors.

hello

On mine the warning light don't come on before the needle rises and it goes off...seems that the bulb have to be replaced...

Never have been able to understand this reasoning...

Doesn't the fuel lne take fuel from the lowest point in the tank? and any sediment, water, general crap woud be heavier than fuel and sink (Ok I know dog crap floats... or so I am told)!

I can understand that with an empty tank there is more of the metal tank exposed to the atmosphere which is more than likely will help it corrode and drop more general crap into the fuel...

Failing that... i'm still confused....

sorry I know it doesn't help with the fuel qty problem...
