Sorry if this has been covered before, but I cannot find a link, my fuel injector light came on last week after I had tried to accelerate and after a momentary stutter off I went. Anybody had this before? Is it the O2 censor or CAt? The motor is fitted with a green filter fed by a cold air ram tube. Usual DTR Sport exhaust, no other mods engine wise, yet.
Any help would be appreciated, yes I will post some piccy's soon.

Cheers Andy a Le Mans maniac.

Hi Andy, and if I have not already said it welcome to the forum!

The Doc is spot on with the filter but I also had the same problem and it turned out that the fuel pipe to the injector fuel rail had come loose. It was sucking air in and leaking a little petrol onto the top of the engine, FOR GOD SAKE BEFORE YOU DRIVE IT AGAIN CHECK THAT YOU ARE NOT SUFFERING FROM THE SAME ISSUE, I WAS LUCKY NOT TO CATCH FIRE!!!

The Green kit can suffer from heat in at low speed but that would not cause the injector light to come on.

You the same Andy the mechanic who was in the Sports and Classic a couple of months ago?

Inj light can come on for a number of reasons inc O2 sensor and fuel pressure but as Lee states make sure all is safe first. Has it happened since?

On a side note welcome to the site (y) how did you find out about us?

Hi Guy's thanks for the swift replies I'll go and try the fuel filter as it's not been changed since I bought the car. No I'm not the mechanic as mentioned above, I run an Esso at Wincheap in Canterbury, so if your passing my boat is often parked up there or in Dover.
Found out about the forum through google searching, but will recommend to others whom I know.
My Green filter has been fitted for a year with no problem, but modded a cold intake to it just recently, but cannot see that doing anything else but helping the gasses.
Looking forward hopefully to getting up to a meet sometime in the near future.
Below are my two prize possesions, the Sportawagon is of course the 2.5v6 with Q Drive.

Hi All,
I'm piggy backing on the back of this thread coz similar happened to me today going to and from work. Though on the way home it stopped doing it half way through the jouney.

The fuel injection warning light comes on, goes off, stays on for a long time then goes off again.

Another issue I have started today and I'm not sure if they are linked or not. It seems when the warning light comes on the engine self accelerates briefly. It also does this when stopped at traffic lights or when stationary.

Recently had the cam belt and water pump replaced, would this have an impact.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions,
Mr G

No one can tell. There a so many sensors on the car that will lit up the injector light when they go fautly or have bad contact.
Mine did when the sensor on the thermostat lost connection due to the connector came a bit off.
You need to read out engine management with a laptop to find out what is causing the problem.
Don't assume it has anything to do with the injectors themselfs.
