Yippee! Got it fixed today. Called out local car electrical specialist who did the job in moments once he found the diagnostic plug. This is under the driver's seat in case you don't know. Charged £25, which is better than Fiat dealer who charged £45 last time and wanted the car for a whole morning.

He says problem caused by moving the seats, so be careful. As already mentioned on this forum, only move the seats with the ignition off and then only move them very gently. This is a stupid design fault.
I hope it is sorted now as its getting expensive. I'll be calling it the "Airbag Tax" !

Thanks for the post, also worth adding that if for any reason you are going to remove the plug or remove the seats etc its a good idea to disconnect the battery.
