Hi everyone:D

Been doing loads of mods lately and while i have the B bug, would like to know what you all think the best suspension kits or combination of shocks/ springs is.

What do you have on your B's and how does it feel.

I've got the Eibach springs (as a few others here do). I find them excellent. The cornering is now superb on the car. It improved with the strut brace but the combination of the two is fantastic.

I also have the eibach springs but when i hit a pot hole i get an awful bang.
feels like i,m going to break the rim.

Not sure if that is normal. but considering changing the shocks.

Just would like to know what would be better, Koni's, Bilstein's or something else.

As you have 17" wheels your going to feel it much less forgiving when hitting pot holes so if the suspension is firmer you will feel it more so. There are a few combinations but have no experience of any of them so would go on recommendation from others......It may be a good idea to sit in one already done if you can to see how much firmer it becomes first.

KC m8 one word "Coilover" If I was doing it again thats what I would fit. I have the full koni adjustable kit on mine and am real happy but I cant adjust the cars ride hight but with coilovers you can.

I have the Eibach's and think that they are excellent. As they are progressive springs they are OK about town and stiffen up under load. I think your 'banging' is coming from having no rubber around the rim's of your huge wheels!!

If I had the wedge I would go for coil overs but these do not fit straight on, they will need some modding on the rear.

I am planning on keeping the Eibach's and upgrading the shocks to Bilstein B2's in the future, I am not a suspension expert so am probably going to steer away from the adjustable shocks and leave it to the experts! Bilsteins have had a good write up on numerous cars!

I was contemplating on the bilsteins and to stick with the eibach springs. I had bilsteins on my Rs and i was happy with that. Handled well and no hard bumps.

Doc, when youve got your B back on the road, You'l have to take me for a spin and see how your set up feels.

Coil overs seems complicated but might have to dwelve into the idea. :)

I'm happy with the Eibachs and I've got Bilstein B6s (I think). Very nice and not too harsh!

Did you do fit them together, or first springs and then shocks.

I have standard shocks only which have only covered 30,000miles but do have the eibach springs. the ride is ok on a straight, not to bad on bends but there is still some roll there. would the bilsteins change this or do i need a stronger anti roll bar.

hello Doc,

what would you recomend first, new shocks or ARB kit.

And.. have you fitted your manifold, My B is really going well, not sure what has made the increase, exhuast or induction but happy so far. (y)
