Ok, probably been posted 100 times but I am now getting the bug. Seems a shame for the DTR exhaust to be on its own in terms of making it fun. What is the best induction kit for a Mk1 2000 model and how much and where to get.

And for all those on here who have seen it all before, I am happy to be directed to previous threads!
cheers(y)

There are a few to choose from, Green filter do a kit that is a piece of cake to fit (same one as fitted to mine), CDA do a filter that can be fitted but takes some effort (as fitted to Doc's)...........or there is a new to the market induction kit from GSR made specifically for the b.

I am about to replace my green kit with the GSR kit, take a look at KC3's thread as he has the prototype kit fitted to his (he fitted it yesterday).

My advice would be to hold off for a couple of weeks to see how KC and I get on with the GSR kit, however if you cannot wait then the Green kit is the simple option with an excellent noise!

So how is the gsr kit performing?

Looked at the green cotton site. Seems there is a changeover for model year 2000 B's.....how do I identify which one fits mine?
cheers(y)

Its quite easy to tell, if you have an Air Flow Meter between the air filter and the intake you have the earlier type engine, the later ones have the AFM in the throttle housing.

This picture shows the AFM in place with the FIAT induction pipes removed, the circular silver thing on the bottom left of the picture. If you have this your car has the earlier throttle setup.

He might, tough, have been too busy doing the hall to have had time to change it yet? :)

(Which reminds me - I'll need to change mine...)

Hehe, the picture of the battery tray was a very old one, if I had left that on there the entire left hand side of my b would have gone by now!!

As for the induction kit I would suggest everyone holds off spending money on a green kit or similar for a couple of weeks while Oldschool (Peter from GSR) finishes off his kit. I had the green kit on mine until yesterday and it used to 'hunt' on idle once the engine had warmed up, since fitting the GSR kit yesterday I am not suffering, also noticed that the mid revv pickup is much better.

Peter did explain in technical details why this was but in essence there are two reasons, one is that he has designed a longer intake pipe (don't ask me why but this really helps) and two is where the new filter is sited (sucks in more cold air)..........

Hope this helps!

Lee, your sig should change from:

1999 Rosso Corsa, Leather, HID conversion, Strut Brace, FOX Evo3 Alloys, fast road brakes, Green Induction kit, Eibach Pro springs and a bunch of other stuff...........

to:

1999 Rosso Corsa, Leather, HID conversion, Strut Brace, FOX Evo3 Alloys, fast road brakes, half a GSR bodge called Induction kit with second hand pinched (from Kiry) undersized Green filter, Eibach Pro springs and a bunch of other stuff...........

Have done 3 induction kits today and worked on the modification for the Barchetta induction. Have got no hands left.

Should have the modified version ready before weekend.

Excellent, that means soon my signature can read;

1999 Rosso Corsa, Leather, HID conversion, Strut Brace, FOX Evo3 Alloys, fast road brakes, rather fetching complete GSR Induction kit with twin cone filter to replace the second hand pinched (from Kiry) undersized Green filter, Eibach Pro springs and a bunch of other stuff...........

:D:D:D:D:D

or

1999 Rosso Corsa, Leather, HID conversion, Strut Brace, FOX Evo3 Alloys, fast road brakes, totally bodged finally finished but rather fetching complete GSR Induction kit with twin cone filter to replace the second hand pinched (from Kiry) undersized Green filter (given back to Kiry for Tia to chew it up), Eibach Pro springs and a bunch of other stuff...........

I think we need a competition and a poll for the best description.
