Ok, some of us (me) are obsessed with not running up the mileage, but on the other hand, who has the B with the highest miles?

And apologies if this has cropped up before.....

I used to drive the B quite often on my way to film weddings but with the new Panda and it's uber-economy that will be become a thing of the past unless I'm heading up north.

There was little difference in consumption between the Stilo and the B but the panda is looking like it will do a good 25 mpg more than the B so........

I bought mine at 49000km almost 2 years on it now has 76000km does anyone else drive there B on adaily basis, say 15000km a year

Mine's a daily driver. Bought it about seven months ago when it was on 100,600km. It's on 109,000km now so I suppose I'm looking at doing about 16,000km a year, something like that. I don't feel too bad about racking up the mileage as I'm off travelling in October for a year or two and my B will be tucked away in the garage, so average 16,000km over 3 years - sounds a lot better :D

I bought mine new in 2000, it's my only car.

Let's just say a mainland euro trip three months after purchase paved the way for the total distance.

Averaging 20,000km a year, I've just gone over 161000km, or 100,000 miles in 'old money.'

Mine had 83,000km 51,000 miles when I got it 3 years ago and its now on 133,000km = 82,000 miles so 20,000 miles below the 12k a year average.

The car now only does 3,000 miles a year so its not being worked at all these days.

Sorry off topic I know but when did you get the panda? I'm averaging 64.8mpg currently :)

Mine's on 132,000 km, and still goes fabulously. I've had no issues mechanically or otherwise and she has never let me down. In September she had no problem on the Autobahn (with a full boot and two up) and registered 147 mph on the clock before I eased off due to traffic, although she would only have eeked out another 1 or 2 mph more. Obviously with FIAT's fudge factor the ACTUAL speed would be noticably less, but it's still good going for a daily use car with just regular maintenance. 0-60 was recorded as 7.9 using in car telemetry on a cold evening a year ago. I've heard that the FIAT book figures were conservative, and there you go.

Forze FIAT :D

<<<heavily edited quote>>>'00 Barchetta Riviera & '68 Lancia Fulvia Rallye

Off topic also, I have to say that a Fulvia is the one car that I would think about swapping the b for [Cannot afford to run two cars]

Anway, back to topic, I'm hoping that there's a higher milage b out there. [well maybe, I quite like the fact that so far, so high, so good]

I couldn't part with either the B or the Fulvia. They are both fantastic to drive and look at. The Fulvia is 40 yrs old this year and I have NO idea how many miles she's done. It's gone round the clock and then some. The speedo cable was only on finger tight, so I'm sure the reading is conservative. Both cars are superbly reliable and sexy to boot!

To all the people I encounter who question Italian car reliability I say 'stuff that up your exhaust pipe and smoke it'

Mine -97 is also daily drive, just clocked 112 000km.. :) It had 108 000km on the clock when I bought it ~8 months ago.. (y)

I'm another daily driver. I don't know how anyone can have a b and not want to drive it everyday. It makes what used to be a very teeedius drive for me that bit more interesting. I'm also listening to talking books on the daily commute at the moment which makes the time fly by, I don't even want to get out if its at an interesting bit! I think I'll be clocking up 10 - 15k miles a year.

Hi Alan

Got the Panda a week ago today. MJ Sporting.

Last I looked the trip was at about 57mpg. Although my wifes been driving to and from work (all city driving) since then so it will probably have dipped by now.

I find in town I get more than in the open country, Glad to see you are enjoying it as they are brilliant...very under rated.

Any major mechanical issues in your 161,000 km of driving the B Zem,
i think it is great for you to drive a car from 0 to 161,000km and i take it the passion is still there,

The gearbox was rebuilt under warranty, it was shot after about six months. I believe there was a recall for some 2000 models?

A phase sensor which left me stranded at the side of the road.

A dead battery also left me stuck for while. And an 'unknown' fuel issue which stopped me - AA man couldn't fix, flat bed to the garage and it started for them.

Nothing else that has left me stranded, a few suspension parts have worn out, other than that, the usual wear and tear, the b needs a new roof and a respray.

edit: oh and the wipers broke [not the motor or the relay] the mechanism snapped, so that was a full replacement at full cost.

The only modification is the DTR twin exhuast as that was cheaper than an original replacement. Which after the initial dismay at not keeping it original, I have got very used to the sound.

But yep, everyday it's great to get in and go.
