Folks

I am new to Fiat Barchettas but have an opportunity to buy a 64,000 km blue 02 model with a full fiat service history.

Is this a good price? I am sure it has A/C (I am in Dubai)

Is there anything I need to look out for? Red key, variator and accident damage I can cover. Anything else?

Cheers

Chris

Also do all Barchettas have a cat convertor? I'd like to bring it back to the UK when I leave Dubai but a lot of cars here are sold without the emissions control necessary to meet European legislation.

Cheers

That would be a good price for a 2002 in the UK if it is in good condition. The UK value is largely meaningless though, the car is worth what somebody locally is prepared to pay. There's another member with a barchetta in the Middle East - Dubai I think? I seem to remember him saying that there's only a handfull out there. Is it a pre- or post-facelift?

All barchettas have cats to my knowledge. There's nothing else unique to barchettas to look for, just all the usual stuff that goes with buying any second hand car.

Good luck(y)

As said I think all Barchetta's were fitted with cat's but if you bring it to the UK and it doesn't have one you have a year to get it sorted, after 12 months then it will need to pass an SVA test to be UK registered, although I think bringing in a car from some countries may be 6 months, then again I may be getting mixed up with driving licences

Thanks for the resopnses. I had a look at it yesterday but I passed. It was a facelify model and the interior was good but the 64000km must have all been parking as there was hardly a panel on it without a dink or a scrape!

Cheers

Chris
