General Barchetta meet 11th of May Watford

Hi everyone. :)

How many of you are comming to this meet on the 11th.

Just need to know as to get enough meet, food, etc for the BBQ.

There,s plenty space to park, check out others car,s .Chat, Eat, Drink and Tune your B should you wish. :D

I think we should assume that everyone in the b section of the forum is coming unless they get a written absence note from both sets of parents and all sets of grandparents - that should ensure a good turnout!! :D:D

'comon you lot, lets see if we can top the 10 b turnout we managed at Nottingham! (y)

Peter, I will fire out a few PM's as people may not have noticed the sticky.........it's a good excuse to get together!

I think it is a good idea.

I have made some more progress on the early induction kit. Just came back from it. I will be able to make the first part tomorrow or Wednesday and then I need one of the cars again:

i'm workign on how to "optimize" my trip, as i should also go "up norf" in that longish w-e, AND still be fresh and happy at work in the morning of the 13th.

It is still a bit of a drive from LUX to the nearest ferry : +/- 3 Hrs,
and either on the way "up" or the leg back i will have to take the HULL-Zeebrugge-HULL ferry (one overnight crossing a day - boarding 5 PM, roll-off 9 AM) , the other leg will be Calais-Dover (or Dover-Calais).
and Watford-Middlesbrough is at least 4 hrs drive.
and Watford-Dover is also at least 2 Hrs drive (but since it includes the M25 orbital that means 5 hrs ).

And it has to remain a bit of fun... milling off motorway miles or being stuck on the M25 is not my idea of fun.

So, i'll have to include at least one B&B along the trip.. any decent B&B around there in Watford ? (With covered parking space protected by mean guarddogs)

Providing i get it worked out, i'll be there. :)
And i'ld like the RR and induction kit, yes please :)

nah, Harwich to Watford is 2 hrs also and the route from Lux to Hoek van Holland is a bit Dyson , me thinks

I'ld rather drive 20 minutes longer to Calais to take a 70-90 mins crossing then going through Holland for a 5 hr crossing. In any case, it would involve two different ferry operators.

Although i like the sea and such, i just think most northsea/channel ferry crossings are boooring, and take too long, unless you can sit with the truckers :D (or unless its the Herald of free enterprise  )

ah, in the olden days you had at least this:

I have been a number of times on the Herald of free Enterprise and it was boring. Once there were only 4 cars on board and not even a truck.

Best crossing was on the Pride of Dover, which was the first boat to leave after/during the famous storm. 2500 people sea sick, very rough and when we came close to Calais we couldn't go in because it was too risky. People were in quite some mood. I enjoyed it.

Hovercraft was good too. Its gone now:cry:.

er.. before i order my P&O tickets, it IS still happening the 11th i hope???

I am going to pop over from Ipswich.

My b is still standard (Facelift) bar the strutbrace....

Having seen what you lot have been getting upto recently it looks as though I am going to go away with some 'ideas'....

Would love to see another facelift with a stainless exhaust - and not necessarilly one from DTR to help make my choice later in the year. :yum:

Great to see you again! Quite a few exhaust options on the market, we can all discuss them over a beer and a burger!!

 scraped the B on a flippin' protruding pipe that stood about a foot high in the car park of my gym. Couldn't see it. GRRRRR! Fitness ain't good for you, my blood pressure hit critical. I did run and cycle for an impressive amount of time though out of pure frustration.
I'll be joining you in Watford (time and place?) but please excuse the scar on my rump :(
