when my relay arrives lee i think i will strip mine down and give it a clean im glad your one step ahead im picking up lots of good tips only joking
i take it a healthy morning turnaround for the strip down and rebuild lee

I would suggest that everyone has a quick look at the state of the spindles as I was surprised how rusty that have become. It is now obvious that the relay was not clicking because it was shorting, it was clicking as the motor was struggling against the rusty spindle - if you have the clicking noise spend a bit of time checking it. Take off the wiper arms, remove the cover between the windowscreen and bonnet and then remove the drive arm from the motor to the arm assembly. You should be able to move the assembly freely by hand, if not you are probably suffering from the same issue.

I stripped the entire assembly to its component pieces, treated the rust and painted the effected area, re-greased everything liberally and replaced it.

It is not a bad job to do, should only take an hour or so - I will stick together a guide for it..........

cheers lee soon as relay arrives i will spend time cleaning everything up now that that you mention i have sort of noticed things delayed /slowing up a bit or am i thinking about it too much

:) Think of it this way, its a couple of hours work to clean it up and re-grease the spindles etc or £182 pounds for a new assembly plus the cost of a new motor!!
