Soo spring time came so I thought "off the hardtop". Usually My dad and I take it off together so since he is in Britain at the moment I thought "wait another week ?? neah!" so I took matters into my own hands; I opened the clippers up the windshield, disconnected the anti-condensation from the rear window and here I am in front of the two left and right clippers beneath the seats. It was the little red thing with the "up" arrow WHICH I WAS SUPPOSED TO SLIDE UPWARDS. and I didn't so I pulled hard the clipper down and the next thing I know SNAP goes the little red button. i learned my lesson and I pointed up on the left side and there was no problem. .....only thing is WHERE AM I GOING TO GET A SPARE LITTLE RED UP ARROW BUTTON?????? it also contains a little spring. please help me! :worship:

Arhh! Bad news, sorry tro hear you broke the clips.

I,d imagine Fiats direct would be the best place for those parts/clips.
Hard tops are scarce enough on there own. not the sort of thing to find from a private seller. But DTR in London, may have these kind of things as they always dismantle and repair B,s. Good luck.

the pics were useful! thanks! Wouldn't be a problem going to London but I don't live in the uk anymore and I think it's no worth calling the Fiat Dealer in Romania I don't even think they ever heard of barchetta they're useless....unless there is another solution

Bummer, still have the hardtop on, good reminder not to do the same. Only have the hardtop since a week or 2. Try contacting this guy, in Holland. He has a lot of stuff and knows a lot about B's, Good luck.

One of the red plaggy bits is missing on one side of my hardtop. To be honest the way the clip works it isn't the end of the world if you have lost one.

I have a much worse problem with mine. I broke the lower of the adjustment bolts and would really rather get a new part than have it welded again.

So, Doc, if this is cool I would like to order one and if Mororchampion is in as well that's two of the little fellas.

if the rubbers are not glued/stuck to the tonnau, thats about it.

Mind, it is a two-person job, althou it is possible to do it solo.

I have a solution.

For the same price as a second hand hardtop, buy a Fiat Marea and use that as your winter car, keep the B tucked up except on fine dry days....therefore, no problem breaking your hardtop clips

Ok, a dodgy second hand Marea might cost more to run than a hardtop...........

Ok guys - help required!

We just tried to take off the hardtop.
Step 1, open front clips - check (one of them had been open the whole time!)
Step 2, disconnect rear heated screen - this is where the trouble started.

Some of you may remember that not long after I bought the car the cable for the rear heated screen caught fire and filled the car with smoke. I had to take it back to the garage to be repaired. Well now when we came to disconnect the cable there is no little junction box (or whatever it is called) to unclip the cable. It appears that it has been rewired with no way to disconnect it - unless we are missing something (i hope we are!)

I will go out and take a photo and I am hoping that someone will tell me we are doing it wrong because otherwise I guess this might mean having to cut the wire to take the top off then rewire it again!?
