General Goodwood Breakfast Club 6th July.....?

If there is no confirmed meeting time in singleton before friday Lee, I have your mob no from the members list will phone on sat to confirm. I shall leave Edinburgh midday on friday hoping to be able to drive all the way to Fareham with the roof down fingers crossed

Ricky952... don't you mean Farnham? Fareham is a bit further south. Having driven all the way from Edinburgh it's not THAT much further I grant you. But to save you a bit of petrol I just thought I'd highlight it.

Looking forward to meeting new faces

Marky :)

Ah! Phew - that's okay then. Just checking - was trying to make the convoy down there as long as poss (y)

I think Goodwood like you ro register so they have some idea how many people want breakfast. I will be attending in my blue B but only if the weather is reasonable.

OK all, the time is getting close so we should firm up arrangements for the drive down.

It is going to be an early start but it is the Goodwood breakfast club and not the Goodwood mid-morning or lunch club so pro-plus and matchsticks at the ready!!

The drive from Farnham to Goodwood is usually about an hour to and hour and a bit depending on traffic etc. Given that it looks like it is going to be a popular meeting I suggest we aim to get there for 08.30 when the gates open (although looking at the threads on PistonHeads it looks like there will already be a row of cars waiting at the gates).

I suggest meeting at the Farnham filling station for 07.30 (gulp) with the aim of getting to Goodwood for 08.30, Singleton is 3-5 mins drive from Goodwood so should be there for the 08.30-ish mark.

There are a couple of speed camera's on route so keep your eye open, also the Sussex police often hide traffic cars within about a 10 mile diameter of Goodwood when there are car meets on, again just need to be a bit careful!

In order to ensure that we don't loose anyone the usual rules of convoy apply, make sure that you can see the person following you, if you loose them slow down or pull over - in theory this will halt the convoy! Remember its your responsibility to make sure that you don't loose your tail - not their responsibility to keep up (although anyone dragging their heels will be publicly humiliated for their lack of pace at Goodwood!!

It should be a good morning out so if you are thinking of popping along but have not made your mind up - COME!!

Secondly, is anyone up for meeting after the breakfast club for a spot of lunch and a spin later in the day? It was initially mentioned but did not seem to generate terrific interest, if you can't make it to Goodwood but fancy meeting on the way back for lunch somewhere then please voice it via this thread!

If you have any questions drop me a line, I think that everyone has my mobile (try sending me a text just to ensure it works before Sunday morning)...............look forward to seeing you all on Sunday!!

Hi Lee

I will be at the petrol station in Farnham by 7.30 (Not sure if Richard will be able to get out of bed that early on a Sunday but will do my best to drag him along)

Will PM you for your mobile No. just in case.

Pooh

Glad you made it down safely - Badgers is a nice tipple, went to the brewery a couple of months ago in Blanford, Dorset. Sat here suffering from a London Pride headache this morning, a couple of friends forced me down the pub last night - kinda regretting it now! :(

Hope you all have a good time, wish I was bringing mine down, however with the dent still in the wing I'm not into showing it off at the moment. When it's fixed next month I'll pop up to the Ace cafe sometime.

Hey - no lame excuses!! Dent or no dent you are more than welcome (y)

Tempting though it is to give you a preview of a 'used' b' [dents, scratches, stone chips and several holes in the roof ] Those going to Goodwood will have to wait until tomorrow. (y)

If I've read it right, I should be at Singleton in a car park on the right hand bend to pick up the convoy at about 08:15?

Yup, we should be with you between 8.15 - 8.30 depending on traffic etc - Ricky will be there......if we get there before you guy's (unlikely) we will wait for you.

I am not 100% sure if there is a car park or not but if you loiter at the bend you will see us..........looking forward to it and meeting some new faces! (y)

Had the b cleaned and is not too bad a condition ready for tomorrow, didn't have time for a good polish or to touch in all the stone chips she has picked up recently but she is now under her cover ready and waiting.:D

Managed to get her on a ramp today to look at the front bumper damage and it is worse than I first noticed. As well as the crack on top of the bumper it has split at the bottom of the number plate area taking a big chunk of paint off, underneath that is also split and two of the 'fins' have cracked through as well.
Must get the accident management company to chase for autho on Monday.

Apart from drawing a map with the words "here be dragons" and other such mysteries, I'm hoping the attached picture will suffice.

Defo a new bumper, lucky it was not any harder - could have damaged the rad....

Yup, that is exactly where I was thinking of. On the odd occasion the plod sit there when there is a car meet/show on at Goodwood but there should be enough room, if not there is a layby/bus stop about 10 yds down the road!

See ya tomorrow (y)

Those stone chips will be gone when the repair is done. (y)
