Hello all (virgin poster!)
My Barchetta has a slight rip down the seam on the hood (just by the back window on the right hand side).
Wondering what my best options are?
At the moment i've just put a bit of ducktape (sitting on the inside of the hood) to cover the gap, but know this isn't a long term solution.
Is there an easy way of doing a bit of patching up... or is it to be the dreaded new hood!
It's a Riviera (silver car with red mohair hood).
Thanks
Rich

Halfrauds do a softtop repair kit. patches, glue etc but no colours (genius in the marketing dept strikes again..), so you end up with a glaring white repair unless you can source flexible paint.

I found a divers wetsuit repair kit in a surf shop with black rubber patches that works fine, cheaper and looks better than the halfrauds kit.

Other option is to find a roof repair specialist. maybe start in the local Mazda agent and find who they use to fix MX5 tops?

Mine needs a new roof as its starting to go at the rear seams, guy in Dublin who advertises cabriolet roof repairs reckons he can do a 'good as new fix for 1/2 the cost of a replacement lid..' car's off to him next week.

cheers mate
mine is on the seam as well... like the idea of the wet suit
probably a bit more wtare tight than my ducktape!!!
appreciate it - just to mention if anyone is reading, i am based in leeds if you know anywhere decent locally that repairs
ta again

thanks for the warm welcomes!
the boat has been useful in leeds (although i hear fiats and water aren't the best combination lol!)
just after i got my roof sealed up - didn't get a new one in the end as a garage managed to seal the problem area - a lovely lady driving a taxi dinked into the side of me!
off to the garage again!

Bad luck rinkypoo!! Make sure they do a good job and look for any other 'blemishes' that the garage could do while its in!

I had a BMW repaired about 10 years ago after it was broken into, pointed a few other bits of bodywork that needed addressing. When the garage submitted the estimate to the insurance company they added a little 'fat' to cover the additional work............

Sorry to hear about the shunt and welcome aboard. Seems to be open season on B's at the moment

cheers mate

Hello and welcome! Where are you in Leeds? I used to live in Kirkstall. I can recommend some pubs and an indian takeaway but not too sure about a decent garage...

Hi
Get yourself down to your nearest camping shop they will have a canvas repair kit It`s really good stuff and under a tenner.

Hi Rinkypoo welcome to the forum. Shame to hear about the dink. Is somebody out to kill off as many B's as possible to up their value? Or are they just envious of our curves?
