I'm liking the look of MIJ in Walsall. Looks like a one stop shop for the whole system. They even chuck you 25 quid towards the petrol to get there.

Got a quote back from MIJ. Sports cat and cat back system is coming in at 465 including fitting and VAT.

I've asked them to supply a quote to include the manifold. Will let you know what comes back.

Looking like a winner so far though.

they are for looks and long lasting though. not every system is designed for power but still keeping streat legal like supersprint though.
it depends what you want really

Hi,
I'm running a BMC CDA and a cat back powerflow exhaust and im very happy with them, the exhaust is a good job, not too loud and looks standard oval.
Dave have GSR got an induction for the barchetta yet, i wanted one for the panda but didnt keep it long enough

I've had mine chipped and it's no problem. Angel Tuning did the chip and CDA as a bundle.

I haven't put it on a rolling road but I'm pretty certain you get a bigger improvement than from replacing the CAT on a Barchetta. I had a CA-back replacement which I'm pleased with but it didn't make as much difference as the chip and CDA.

They were also happy to concentrate on drive-ability rather than high horsepower.

I'm pleased with the result but you might also want to look at the GSR kit it looks pretty good to me.

Like LRB I've got Eibach's which are fantastic, but I also changed the shocks with mine. It now corners like it's on rails (as they say).

Do you have a link to the specific springs? Be good to have a look.

Angel Tuning no longer do the chip for the B.

I haven't got a link on me, but can post one tomorrow.

Are you sure about Angel, I thought I saw it on their site in December it's a re-map not a new chip). I've got a link to a Swiss company who do them too, if you're interested.

Hi Matt

This is part of the e-mail I received from angel.

Hi Jon, we are yet to find anyone who can remap a Hitachi ECU with an MEP processor, but if someone says they can do it, then fair enough, just get it independantly dyno tested before and after. We have rechipped the older ECU's in the past, but we no longer offer this, try www.addbhp.co.uk for rechipping.

We can do a live map with a piggyback ECU from £495 all inc at our Newcastle outlet should you wish to go down south a bit.

I would go with the £495 piggyback ECU and live map if I was you! The great thing about a live map is it will be done with all your other engine mods thus done just for your car. Only problem is if you add extra mods you will need the map done again.

(y)

I have family in Newcastle so it sounds like this would be something that I will do. I want the stainless manifold and sports CAT as well as the fast road cams before I have a live map done.

When I had mien done they could only do it in Scotland but I thought they were planning to do it throughout the network. Mine's a 97 so I suppose that makes it an "old" one.

As the Doc says a "live map" could be pretty good as it can be re-done (that's why I got the CDA and map done together) as you add the mods, the only other thing I can think of is that the "piggy-back" approach probably wouldn't get missed by an insurance company :)

I'm sure I remember someone else on the Forum getting a re-map they were happy with, maybe it was one of the Punto HGT guys..

For Eibach, this is the link to a UK supplier: http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?id=445220

The image they show is wrong though, they are in fact red and not so straight and thin. You can look at Eibach's own site for the correct images.

I have been speaking to Peter who own's GSR about getting a kit made up for the b, my focus over the past couple of weeks has been elsewhere so I will pick it back up with him and let you know how I get on!!

I bought my Eibachs from these guys in Germany, excellent communication, very fast shipping - I would recommend them - oh, and I saved about £30-50 on UK prices (including shipping)!!

They are not showing any on their eBay shop at the moment but I am sure if you drop them a mail they will have a set in stock!!

Excellent!

Thanks guys.

Been in contact with Peter myself. He says he is in the early development of the induction for the early engine B. Mine is the later engine though, so I should be able to go ahead with it.

Manifold, sports cat, cat back system and induction are within my grasp.....unless someone else decides they fancy a wee bashing session on the B :(

Springs next and further, probably much further, down the line the live map.

Ah luv ma wee bee

Cool.

Edinburgh does a pretty good night out it has to be said. Mind you, always best to avoid Lothian Road in the early hours.

The haggis will be in attendance this evening.........not for long though:D
