Styling After market seats

I get up at 5:45 every day to reach work that starts at 08:00 (even if I only live 10 minutes away, but I need to load up on coffee and fags before work) so no bloody wonder I'm lazy and tired:eek:

'fair enough, although I am 'between jobs's' at the moment I still force myself out of bed at 07.00 just to keep some kinda routine (and take the kids to school). 2 days a week contracting is just covering the mortgage and bills, I guess I had better sort out something more permy soon..................

Permy like this? Gonna go for the mullet as well?

I popped over to my parents' to take some pics and forgot what I was supposed to take a pic of  It was the underside, right? Here's a sh*te pic of it :) I even put on some half arsed measurements - all free of charge, no less (y) Converting the measurements to barleycorn, cubits, furlongs etc like you Brits use I'll leave to you :D

Robot, i've been studying the pic above as i have just collected some leather seats from the breakers yard and hope to fit them soon. i dont have that wire that i can see, im guessing that is something to do with the airbag? im hoping that the wire is actually in my car and is just reconnected when i put the seats in or am i missing something i need from the seats?
my car only has a driver airbag, the seats came from a car with driver and passenger if that makes any difference.
cheers

The wire is for the seat belt pretensioner - see picture. I suspect that the airbag light won't turn off if you don't have it connected. Can anybody verify this? Let's hope there's a way of moving them over from the old seats.

Thanks Robot. just checked the seats again and i dont have the pretensioners on them, fingers crossed it can be sorted:(

Thanks for those Robot and for the measurements, nice one (y)
So if the wire is for the seatbelt, would you still need to replace the seatbelt or do you reckon that could be saved and attached to a different sub frame?
Cheers

Mark

Thats what I thought too, insurance could be fun, but they think the car is standard
Sent an email to cobra Doc and got this back:

Hi Mark,

Not a problem! I wouldn’t recommend the Universal Subframes if you are planning on fitting these to the seat belt pretensioner. If you are then harnesses might be the best route, although I’m not sure what your floor pan is like as to how much work is involved in fitting these in.

For the work that would be involved in fabricating the Universal Subframes, I think the best option would be to fabricate the original subframes to fit our Daytona base fixings (fixings of 292mm left to right and 330mm front to back and 405mm left to right and 330mm front to back).

I hope that this information helps and if you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Whats your thoughts?
Thanks

Mark

All looks like it would not be a problem (y) The harness would be easy as you could fit them onto the main strut behind the seat over the petrol tank or fit them to the bottom of the seat.

Its not a simple swap but I dont see it being a nightmare job.

Cheers Doc, ill have to give it some real consideration, nothing is ever easy with the b:bang:
Do you think the original sub frames could be modded to take the cobras?
Thanks again

mark

Here's hoping that you don't order anything based on the measurements on the pic... :)
