Just to say hello to everyone on the Barchetta thread:)

I have had my 2000 Rosso Corsa Barchetta since mid December, it is currently having a new heater matrix fitted and the exhaust sorted.

Just cannot wait to get it back from the guys at the garage on Tuesday so I can get back out on those slippery salty roads in the driving rain.;)

Next job will be a full service with a cam belt and variator change. I can see my passion for this motor is going to cost me bigtime!

Now and again I work in Nottingham at the QMC Hospital so if you lot want to get together one day, let me know and when I am next up that way we can arrange something. (y)

My postcode is SG18 so if anyone wants a hot coffee and a good chat about B's and mods feel free to drop me an email.

Hi and welcome to the forum - good to see that you chose the BEST colour!!

The fun of ownership outweighs the negative bits - costs can run away with themselves if you are not careful, tip is to keep an eye on eBay and shop around when you need bits, I have just saved £60 buying a set of springs in Germany rather than a UK distributor.......

Anyhow, look forward to seeing you on the forum! (y)

Hey, I work at Nottingham City Hospital (and occasionally at QMC too) so that'd be cool. You live in Biggleswade? My folks live between there and Royston so next time I'm back I'll drop you a line...

HI and welcome (y)
Heater matrix is a nightmare long job and I bet its going to cost you  Welcome to the world of the Barchetta :D expensive but a fun place to be.

The garage have only charged me 317 including VAT, they tell me it is a lot more work than they expected it to be. Do you think I caught out an innocent garage and bagged a bargain?(y)

Hello!

Welcome. Don' think I've ever seen a red b in Nottingham... will keep an eye out:)

Never seen your silver one either? I do often see a metallic blue one though. Always the blue was the worst colour (apologies for any offence caused) reminds me of rusty X19s and Uno Turbo i.e.s.;) Not that there is anything wrong with Unos or X19s! I shall keep em peeled.(y)

Welcome to the forum ! (It's nice that there are now people who are newer than me!)
I can't believe there are so many barchetta's in nottingham. I never see them. I work at the Notts Uni on the main campus so am right next to the QMC. Are there enough of us for a Nottingham get together?? That would be great. You could all bring a sponge to help me mop out my b(aby) - full of water again today :(
Doc maybe you could let us know when you are at the QMC and we can try and sort something out? Even 4 bs together would be impressive to me...

Shel, how's the water getting in? If you've a hardtop on there I'd have thought that would be watertight? I often get into mine and find a puddle on the passenger side where I've not closed the window right up against the seal - is it the same problem with the hardtop seals that lets water in?

Shelxs, any idea where the water is coming in? If its not the window seals are you parking with the nose pointing down a hill? I know that may sound like a daft question but I have heard of water dribbling in under the seals on the back of the hardtop above the boot - might be worth a check.......

Yes I must admit I didn't take your advice and am parking facing down hill, mainly because the parking is really terrible on my street with very small spaces on a potholed road and with the lhd I've been nervous about scratching my alloys if I try and park the other way! I've bought some glue to fix the seal that is a bit loose which I'll do today, then I'm going to make sure it is dry inside and take your advice and park facing up the hill. If water still comes in after that I'm going to get one of those half covers. The garages that are for rent near me have unfortunatly just gone up for sale so not for rent at the moment - they want 12k!

Thanks
Shel
