General Original Subwoofer box

Hi LRB,

Did you hear the infiity 6010cs yet ? And yes what other speakers/equipment where involved ? Got to check out what my local dealer has in stock. Did you get your speakers out of the box ? When are you planning to install them, I won' be doing anything untill after the weekend. Especially if I keep going to bed this late.....Greetz Mark.

This is why I can't put a sub in the boot.

Also test to see if I can get a picture in.

The OEM subbox has no free space for Dynamat or speaker foam inside.

I have yet to fit Dynamat in the wings, hood bay, boot, main floor, but so far its in the doors, bonnet, petrol tank panel, boot lid, petrol tank area (behind the sub), all inside trim panels, foot speaker wells.

Its great stuff but its not cheap when you need loads of it. On the plus side it does make the car feel a load more solid and helps the speakers.

The reason the Doc is having to up the BHP is 'cos he has put 600kgs of Dynamat on his car!!! :p

I have heard them in a couple of cars, some driven from the head and some from an amp and they have always sounded excellent!

I first fitted a set of infinity speakers into a BMW when my pioneer ones were stolen - I could not believe the difference in clarity, lack of distortion and volume - always tried to stick with Infinity or Harmon Kardon, slightly more expensive than Pioneer's, Alpine's etc but worth the extra couple of pounds....

I will buy mine from this place, its the cheapest I have found so far...........

judging from this pic, you indeed have to put your picture collection in the glove compartiment :)

Mind you this boot was big enough to take my wife and me on a holiday to Barcelona for two weeks. Didn't ever think my wife would manage......only 6 pairs of shoes. We also have a bagage rack for the boot, but don't like the way it spoils the lines of the car. Might hold a nice Subwoofer though :slayer:

Good luck Sunny Funny and dont forget to take some pics as you do you mods as well all enjoy mod pics.

I am on the look out for some bulkhead bags as I dont think it will be a problem for the 10" sub. If I ever get my hands on them I will let you know what impact it has on the sub. (y)

Here's what the bags in our B look like.

if you can find the right material (?leather?) you can always stitch some contraption together yourself.. is rather straightforward, if you don't expect to have 25 'compartiments' in them

or some local upholsterer or saddlemaker should be able to craft something to spec :)

Yip, but where to put it is the question. I like the spot next to the fuel tank. So I''l be investigating an encosed sub, should be about the same effect as a sub in the boot. Or something below the seats, made around the wires for the belt tightners.
First this week I will be replacing the radio and connecting the i-pod. Also order new speakers front and rear. Sub is for much later.....I hope;)

Radio is in, also changed one of the bulbs for the heater controls, and the
i-pod can be connected. Now waiting for my speakers to arrive. And will start playing around with the Bluetooth. BT audio works with my HTC TYTN2 although the volume is much lower then the radio or i-pod .
The hardest part was finding a FIAT dealer with the tools to get the clarion radio out

Really like the way you've got the ipod connection in the centre glovebox(y)

Yip, the plug for the i-pod connector fits through the hole for the lock, so no drilling holes necesary :)
The i-pod adapter is rather big, I found a spot on top af the gearbox in the centre console.

Cool feathure about the radio is that even when the radio is off, and it makes contact with your phone, at an incoming call, the radio will turn on to receive the call hadsfree :worship:

Happend to me when I was standing next to the car....the antenna went up when the phone rang  thanks to both wires to the radio beiing costant 12 volts
Haven't made a call yet while driving at any speed caue off the weather.
