hi

I have recently joined the Barchetta elite with my new car. Its fantastic. However, I am just about to take this car to europe on holiday and wondered what is the best way to get the headlights set up for driving on the mainland of europe. Can any one advise?

many thanks

Contact DTR and ask them if you can "hire" a set of right dip headlights for a couple of weeks. They should have a stock of them 2nd hand as they swap them out when importing the cars.

Alfa Romeo 156 2.4 JTD (210BHP)
Fiat Punto JTD (130BHP)
Fiat Barchetta

Not wishing to sound bigheaded or ignorant but I have been driving all over Europe for over 25 years in many many different vehicles both private and commercial and have never once altered my headlights with beam direction changers or anything else and have never been stopped. I think also you will find that if you were to check any foreigner over here, they will not have done also:(
I know technically it would be against laws but hey!..........
Now, last November when I crossed the channel on P&O ferries, they were trying to sell the gullible public sets at up to £50 that included headlight converters, flourescent vests, fire extinguishers and spare bulbs. They were handing out leaflets as you checked in saying that the French were clamping down etc etc. Needless to say it was largely a money making exercise and I never saw any Gendarmes remotely interested:(

In complete contrast I always do the lights when going abroad :) But the projection units on the BMW are made in such a way that you just loosten 3 screws turn the projection unit left or right can't remember which as far as it will go & tighten the screws Done. Did it last time whilst on the euro tunnel and had loads of time to spare.
