Is there anyone in the uk who can turbo the B!

What performance figures might one expect if they have a turbo added to the B. i.e 0-60 , 0-100 and top speed. and how much would this cost.

I have been looking into this for ages now and it can be done. I have the number of a race engine guy who I hope will be doing my turbo at some point.

The B needs new: clutch,Piston's,rods,cams,valves,springs,turbo,intercooler,blow off valve,injectors, ECU map.

Maybe head gasket,longer 5th gear, fuel pump. I think thats about it. £3-6K should do it.

You should get about 200 BHP from the B.

wouldn't it be easier to bold the bodywork of the B around a Honda S2000 ?

LOL hehheeheh You would change these things on other cars if you want to add 70-80% more power. You could just stick on a turbo and hope for the best but how long the engine will last... !?! In KC's hands I would say about 20 mins. heheh

FYI you need a replacement manifold as well.

Keep the B as it is and invest in a 20v Coupe Turbo, best of both worlds

there's no point sticking a turbo on the 1747, just stick a 20vT engine in a B instead, much cheaper and better performance as well. since the 20v engine fits in the bravo and marea that also take the 1747 you know the 20vT will be an easy fit. no more difficult that doing the conversion on a bravo. a 20vT B would be one hell of a beast.

Sorry Jug the 20v will not fit without a load of cutting work but the 16v will go in with some new engine mounts. You also need to get the drive shafts done as the coupe DS are to long.

The 16v lump would save you having to replace the pistons and manifold but you would need to fit the coupe ECU and wiring.

As far as I know the only coupe engine in a B was done by Aldo Brovrone "Dedica" That was a 16v lump giving up 262 bhp topspeed of 270 Km/h (167 Mph).

I wish I could buy another car as well as the b............never know - the next job may 'be the one' - 997 for work and a b for the weekend - that would be odd

Like the coupe engine but not a fan of the car.

If I was in your frame of mind Alan, I would definitely keep it. It is your baby, you have already had to sell the B so keep the bloody BM!!!!!

I suppose in the scheme of things it's worth f/a to sell.......
